Effort is something between you, and you. It’s not about working toward perfection, it’s about getting up after you fall, leaving the room cleaner than you found it, opening the door for that one more person, completing the task and not cutting it short, trying again and again after you fail, paying it forward, being the teammate people can rely on. But how do we teach this to our kids????

3. Putting myself in a box✖️ I watched a keynote speech from one my Training favourites and (let’s be honest, idol) @kaisafit
at the NASM summit today. What was supposed to be a bit of internet surfing turned into the inspiration I have been craving. There is a reason why the people you look up to (even if you have never met them) become that person. It became quite evident while watching her speak that we share the same views and have struggled with the same “conflicting” views as a trainer/coach. I have tried to create the “perfect program” for every single client I have ever trained. Some days they walk into a session and the last thing they need is “day 2, program 3.” As a coach, I love that I am able to read into this and give my clients what THEY need on that day. There was a time, however, that I wasn’t sure if I was doing this trainer thing right though. I have never been ALL about weight loss/fat loss because I truly believe that if you start to move your body on a regular basis your life becomes happier and brighter- weight loss and fat loss won’t give you that- but they will likely be byproducts of this new-found happiness. That’s why you don’t see clients “before” and “afters” on my webpage. I have always approached fitness and moving your body as a “life enhancement.” I see it every day I train myself and every day I train my clients. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this video today. It lit a fire to continue to coach they way I do and approach movement as a means to a happier, healthier, more enjoyable life. Thanks Kaisa 💪🏽👏🏽
Holiday Challenge W1D1: I'm trying a new workout this holiday season in an attempt to combat the usual post-Halloween to New Year's slump: @kaisafit
Kaisa Keranen's 6 Week Holiday Challenge. It's five 30-minute workouts a week with bonus nutrition coaching through @arivaleteam.
It's a mix of circuits, strength training, and functional movement that will hopefully be novel enough compared to my usual straight lifting plus cardio routine to keep me motivated. Five out of the six weeks will be done by Holmat, so here's to some kick ass progress by December 14!

Maybe I'm drunk, maybe I'm full of myself, maybe I've lost my mind, but I swear I get stronger/feel more at ease the longer I'm swimming, biking, running. Today it was swimming. It becomes effortless, I don't feel tired, sore, uneasy. On a different note, pruning is real.

At least one day per week I like to just play in my workouts. It helps keep my workouts fun and playful. There is certainly no mastery in these moves but I'm stronger than I was before and trying new things is fun!! P.s. #kaisafit

Sandbag workout! Pair these two moves with my video below (more sandbag moves) for a killer sandbag challenge.
Time yourself! One minute for each round for three rounds and see if you can increase your reps each time!
If you don’t have a sandbag, use some dumbbells or 📚books or really whatever you’ve got on hand.
Don’t limit yourself just because you don’t have any fancy equipment.
Tag your favorite person and give it all you got! 💪💪 Entrenamiento con bolsa de arena!

Pon el reloj para medir su propio tiempo. Por cada movimiento, pon un minuto y hazlo tres veces para aumentar repeticiones cada vez!

Day 31! Woohoooo officially this is the last day of theOctober Just Move Challenge by @kaisafit
! Can’t believe I managed everyday. Today I decided to do just 20 minutes so 2 and a bit rounds of the workout. I was also fighting off mozzies who were trying to show me some extra, unwanted, love. I think because my body has been sore since the weekend and I smashed out the last two days workouts that today I decided to not push it or go too crazy.
I’ll be continuing to workout but not sure I’ll be posting about it daily or making these time lapse videos anymore - these were more for my accountability during the challenge but who knows I may do them from time to time. I will be posting on Sunday with my body scan results to tell you if there has been any change so that’s exciting - I’m looking forward to seeing!

Day 29!! Even I’m wondering how I am still going! Sometimes my determination astounds me.... My whole body seemed sore this morning so I just thought I’d take it easy and with some moves I did but some I didn’t. I actually smashed through today’s workout in lightening speed! I felt good and energised. Got super sweaty too!
Today has turned out to be pretty rainy and the really wet sort of rain too.....don’t pretend you don’t know what I mean! Sooo instead of riding today I’ve driven to New Farm and getting the Citycat into the city! It’s fun! Now time to talk...

Oh boy! I felt a bit sick this morning. I moved though and although I don’t feel better, I don’t feel worse! I got through 3 rounds of the pyramid workout so one round 8 reps, one 10 reps and one 12 reps!
Sometimes you don’t always feel like doing something and, granted, sometimes you shouldn’t but it is probably a super rare occasion that you shouldn’t. I like to stick with the rule that if I commit to something and say I’ll do it then I will. I will never let myself or others down when I’ve given my word. So today was for me....doing something I promised myself I’d do!
Let’s get it done. Let’s do what’s good for us! Let’s do our best!

Trying to get some old stuff back 💪🏼
Well I was not feeling it today....I kind of dragged myself through this workout! I did ok but my enthusiasm was not there so much. I got woken up by a mozzie at 3:50am so that didn’t help!
Still, I feel good after doing it and am super happy I didn’t let this mood get in my way. My motivation to do something that’s good for me and makes me feel great is strong.
I was thinking of a hot yoga session today as well but I’ll see how I get on. I’ll ride my bike to work and maybe have a bit of a ride then!
Just 9 days until my Mum arrives for a visit! Maybe I’ll take her through one of these 😁
