The job of the torso is to transmit the force created by the extremities, with minimal energy leaks, and minimize the strain placed upon the lumbar spine.
When training, it is imperative to challenge the torso as a whole within key movements for optimal transfer. This is why loaded carries are a great addition to your programs. .
This is a great progression because it. ▶️Challenges the Lateral Sling. ▶️Improves Torso Stiffness. ▶️Improves Pelvic Control. ▶️Improves Posture ▶️An added benefit is by cueing the athlete to strike the ground with only the ball of the foot (no heal touch), allowing them to develop low intensity Ankle Stiffness. .
