Super advanced math class, or just another day at preschool? Either way, A+ for this smiling face! 👏👏👏
Today is Tu B’Shevat, the New Year for the Trees or Jewish Arbor Day.⠀
There is a great Tu B’Shevat story about a young man who takes a walk and encounters a much older man along the way. The older man is planting a fig tree. The younger man knows that it can take many years for a fig tree to bear fruit and asks the older man why he is planting a tree when it is unlikely that he will ever enjoy the figs from his own tree. The older man answers by pointing to a tree up on a hill that is bursting with fruit and tells the younger man, “One of my ancestors planted that tree so that I may enjoy its fruit today, so I am planting a tree so that future generations may also have the joy of eating figs.”⠀
“Today, I am feeling a little bit like both the younger and older man in this Tu B’Shevat story. I am so grateful to those who had the vision decades ago to build a pool on our campus. Without their work, we would have nothing to tent today. I am also looking forward to opening our pool and helping to ensure that exceptional aquatic experiences are available for the next 50 years at the J.” - Amy Krulik, CEO
kicked off Martin Luther King Day with an incredible Interfaith Day of Service. Over 120 teens and adults from 6 different faith groups around the Triangle came together to do some good for our community. They painted accessible parking spaces, made sandwiches for Urban Ministries, created blankets for Project Linus, and more. The night ended with a performance from the Bull City Slam Team.

The Providence Jewish Community Center (what is now the Jewish Alliance) has undergone many changes in it's history. We've even changed buildings multiple times!
Before the construction of our current building, the #JCC
was hosted within the Providence police station (thank you Providence's finest!). Check out some of the photos we dug up (with the help from our amazing friends at the Rhode Island Jewish Historical Association) from the late 1930's-1940's of our old building!!!
What an incredible evening of music, energy, and community! #POUND
with a Purpose (led with the guidance of the Danielle O’Reilly, Katrina Dooda, and many other local POUND favorites) helped stock up JFS’ Food Pantry while we rocked out 🤘🏻
🎶Klezmer Fest✡ is THIS SUNDAY at East Valley JCC! Music starts at 12:30 with our friends Rural Street Klezmer Band. We're super stoked to be playing with the one and only Yale Strom, as well as the Chai Tones!
We'll be playing this jammer as well as all of your favorite Jfunk klezmer hits! Be sure to come check it out and support your local Jewish community

Our thirteenth Mitzvah Day is a wrap, and what an amazing day it was! Over 570+ volunteers came bright and early to clean, organize, feed, create, plant, and so much more throughout our community. For our b’nai mitzvah year, we are so incredibly proud of how many people came together to do so much good. (Photo credit: Jake Axelbank)
