Dói carregar o infinito no peito.
Ela.

- The Covenant Confirmed -
Exodus 24:7 (NIV) “Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded, ‘We will do everything the LORD has said; we will obey. ’” Moses has received and read the law of the Lord to the people. Now the people will agree to and confirm their covenant with God.
Let’s think about the word “covenant” for a bit. This is a major description of God’s relationship with man, and it is more than just an agreement. Today, we treat contracts or agreements more casually. Commitments are easily broken. We need to have a better understanding of covenant from God’s perspective. Here are a few distinguishing characteristics of biblical covenant.
First, this covenant was initiated with God. It begins with Him. He has always desired fellowship with His people.
Second, Israel is a theocracy. This means that God is their King and Ruler. As such, He establishes the laws that will guard and guide His people. Though He initiates and upholds the covenant, His people are responsible to honor Him by obedience and faithfulness to the law.
Finally, the unfolding story of the Old Testament will prove that even when His people are faithless, He is faithful. God is a covenant-keeping God. This means He is a promise keeper. We see the fulfillment of these promises in Jesus.
Each lesson of the covenant has huge implications for you and me.
First, God initiates His relationship with us too. He pursues us. Isn’t that amazing? Remember that His character is unchanging. The God we see pursuing, training and leading Israel is still doing the same for us today.
Second, God sent Jesus to keep every word of the law, fulfill it completely, and then offer His blood as a sacrifice to pay for all the ways Israel and we have failed. He kept His promise.
The New Testament provides a beautiful bookend to this particular scene in Exodus. Here Moses sprinkled blood on the people to seal their commitment to God’s words. In Matthew 26:28 as Jesus and the disciples take the Passover meal, Jesus says, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

What is your mindset? I've been doing a lot of reflecting and thinking this week about our original design and about my "thinking". Does that sound weird?
Mary Oliver died this week and I guess I was living under a rock because I had never heard of her. When I started reading some of her words, I realized had read and loved some of them.
How does this fit together? It takes bravery to put yourself out there, to offer your "self" to the world. It opens one up to criticism, rejection, ridicule, meanness. We are so blessed that some people, like Mary, have the courage to share anyway.
We are all gifted and talented and unique, aren't we? God wouldn't love you enough to send his Son to die for you but leave you "giftless". If you dont believe you have anything to offer, you are believing a lie.
What is your mindset about the way God made you, made me? Do we let our fantasy about the way our gifts might be received keep us with our lips zipped, our arms glued by our sides, our hands clenched?
Please stop! I want to know YOU...the beautiful way God made you. And I hope you want to know me, too.
Let's change our mindset about ourselves and others, ok?

Not to brag, but I hung out in my bed with the teen baby last night and had the most fun.
I guess that’s bragging.
We ate popcorn and she finally took a selfie with me, which she never does. She only did this because I said, “Gosh, you will be so sad when I am dead, and all the other children always have pictures with me and you have never taken one.”
Also, I did my very best impressions of Catherine O'Hara who plays Moira Rose on the Netflix original Schitt's Creek. Which we watched until nearly midnight, which is why I am late getting here, to tell you good morning.
I am never late.
Until lately, when I always am.
But, Sophie, who I will always call SophiA, in Moira’s voice, from now on, and I never get this kind of time together. She with her academics and intense UIL and Theater meetings is always too busy.
SophiA, with emphasis on the “AAAA,” told me about her Algebra class, maybe it was English, I never remember. Her teacher handed her a stack of papers in front of the class and said, “Sophie, all 100’s, just like always.”
SophiA mentioned this was embarrassing.
I recall, although the child has my face, never having such an experience. Well, my teachers would have called me out with, “Jami, all 50’s, just like always.”
As SophiA collected her pet panther, not really it is just an ENORMOUS black cat, that might eventually kill and eat us all in our sleep, and headed to her room, the words "always" and "never" bounced about in my brain... keep reading... link in profile
