TOP THREE ALBUMS OF 2018 - -
This was not easy to narrow down to three because a lot of great music came out of this year but my top three are as follows. -
- (In No Particular Order) Ice Nine Kills - The Silver Scream: Everything I love about horror and film in one album. This album, from first listen, was an instant classic for me and I've listenened to it multiple times a day for the past couple of months since its release. I even went to see them live when they were in Tampa JUST because I wanted to see them on the first tour with this record in full. Incredible stuff. Check it out if you haven't. - -
Shiraz Lane - Carnival Days: Absolutely my contender for album of the year. I've been in love with this band since I first heard "Money Talks" (Late 2015, I wanna say?) They're, easily, one of - if not my absolute - favorite band. So when Carnival Days came out, I pre-ordered on multiple platforms, promoted the shit out of it, and still do to this day. Incredible band, even more incredible guys, with an insanely bright future ahead. I can't wait for Shiraz III if Carnival Days is any indication of their growth. - -
As It Is - The Great Depression: An album I didn't know I needed. This album became an easy favorite but more than that, the message, the importance, and everything with it hit me so hard and in such a real way. I can't wait to see these boys in February to experience this album live. I need to meet Patty, hug him and thank him for saying things I never could say. - -
If you haven't heard these albums, please put them on your radar. You won't be disappointed.
