When I'm asked why I come here year after year, my answer is simple - people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.
Knowing my cultural background and where I came from helps me develop a strong sense of who I am. It's about forming deep connections, learning hardships of my ancestors, It’s about roots and branches and leaves and entire forests.
I'm magnetically drawn to this beautiful town of Roseto. Home to one of the oldest living beings in Italy, where I can wake up to beautiful views, sounds of church bells, the smell of fresh baked bread, where children can play freely in the streets until the wee hours of the morning, where every corner turned brings about it's own uniquness, where you can watch a bride be serenaded, where we can dance in the streets and where for me, personally, keeps me grounded.
Simplicity is something we all forget in the midst of movement and chaos.
I'm so blessed to have this wonderful connection. I'm blessed to have made so many new memories, reconnect with old friends, made connections with new friends.
