Hardcore Italian’s Production Manager, Santo (@im_a_bass_man_13
), keeps up a 130 year old family tradition that has been passed down from his great-grandfather. Once a year, the Munizzi family gets together to make over 1,000lbs of delicious Calabrese sopressatta!
The recipe is only known within the family. It is important to the Munizzi’s to honor their ancestors and pass down traditions to the younger generation. This is what being #HardcoreItalian
is all about!! The bulk of the work is done by 15+ family members in the city of Chicago. This is where pork meat is cut, seasoned, and filled. After this process, the sopressatta hang-dries for over a month long.
When Santo is not making sopressatta, he is here at the Hardcore Italians distribution center, helping our mission of spreading Italian pride to the nation. He is a major role to our team and takes on a lot of responsibility.
In fact, if you have ordered from us before, you can thank him for making sure every product is high-quality and delivered quickly. He also vigorously checks customer service emails, to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your purchase.
