The student population and faculty of Central High School has been plunged into mourning following the death of 14 year-old Areel Foster from a suspected case of dengue fever. She died at the Kingston Public Hospital on Wednesday morning.
Foster, who was a ninth grader at the institution, was an active member of ‘All Together Sing’ choir has died from dengue fever.
Foster was the lead singer for Central High School, which finished fourth in last year’s TVJ’s All Together Sing.
Senior Medical Officer (SMO) for the institution, Dr. Natalie Whylie refused to confirm or deny whether the death was indeed a case of dengue. “I am not able to comment,” she told Jamaica Today.
