So, I did a thing today...😬🏃🏼♀️. When I was cleared by my doctor last week to run whenever I felt ready, I was happy/surprised/nervous. Happy because running is my favorite, surprised because I had just pushed out a 9 pound baby 3 weeks prior, and nervous because I forgot what it was like to run without a big ole belly attached to my body. I woke up this morning and knew that today was the day. I had the pre-race butterflies in my belly all morning, which is ridiculous because I was just going out for an easy run with zero expectations. The first few steps a flood of emotions came over me. I was sad because it was exactly 10 months to the day since I had logged my last run without Peyton in my belly, and I missed having her along for the ride. Those feelings quickly faded away, mostly because I knew @chadwysocki
was home snuggling her 🤗. I felt relaxed, comfortable and so, SO happy for the remainder of the run. I’m so thankful that I was able to get back out there today and enjoy something that I truly love (and yay for my first run as a #motherrunner
😍). Happy Sunday Runday, friends!!

Love working abs and arms the day after a long run. Here is a snippet of my workout. Did lots of variations of planks and push ups. Also lifted weights. Working on becoming a stronger more efficient runner.
6,5k detox 🌿✨, precis vad kroppen behövde efter sen natt och fyrtioårsfest igår 🙌. Halva lågpuls, halva milfart, /5:35 snitt, tack och hej från mig
Every time I take time off for an injury I worry that I’m going to decide to stop running. I mean, not running would just be so EASY. I’d be able to sleep in on Sunday mornings. I wouldn’t have to worry about how I’m going to fit a run into a busy day. I’d have so much time to do other things. I wouldn’t always have those little aches, pains & tightness. (Come to think about it... I probably wouldn’t even have to deal with the stupid injuries that force me to take time off🤔.) But every time I take time off for an injury I still come back. .
My adductor felt mostly okay today, but still a bit tight in the hip flexor. Crazy humid this morning, but still felt pretty darn good! If my leg stays okay with easy runs this week, I’m hoping I’ll be able to start easing back into marathon training next week. .

The best things after a long, sweaty weekend workout >> .
1. A long, HOT shower and a big fluffy towel.
2. Changing into comfy clothes.
3. A big bowl of delicious food for refueling.
4. Kicking your feet up in comfy slippers and turning on your favorite tv show (I’m currently watching @youngertv
5 A nice long nap 😴 .
I hope y’all are having a nice, relaxing, cozy Sunday! I’m recovering from my long run and then Mark and I are going to look at a few houses 🏡 Then it’s back to the couch for me! 😜😴
This place ⛰ 4 impromptu progression miles this AM. Being able to run easily at 6k feet has erased all my concerns for @st.george.marathon
- really thinking there is something to training in the heat and humidity that helps. The smoke from nearby fires has been making the sky a little hazy, but it cleared for last night’s sunset ➡️ to see -K #2fabfitchicks #sundayrunday #mountainrunning
I love these little salamanders. I see too many squished on the road so I always stop when I see them to help them across. Today’s plan called for 13 miles - I cut it at 10. I probably could have at least walked the last 3 but I figured I wasn’t going to push it. Has anyone ever had a hawk/falcon (pretty sure it was a hawk but it was hard to see with the sun) follow them? This guy stayed with me for over a mile - they would fly ahead and wait for me and as soon as I would pass and be about a tenth of a mile away they would fly by me and wait again. 🏃🏻♀️🦅
15 muggy Miles banked made up of 10 laps trying to get the head into the 24hr solo game, which is two weeks away! 🙌🏼
Lots of munching today, trying to find what sits well on my stomach whilst shuffling along... animal biscuits... yes! Warm, floppy babybel... nope! 🤣
Very happy just to get out and not worry about pace today. Super easy, super chilled, happy trail miles (albeit the same ones 🤣) .
Hope everyone has had a fab weekend, huge well done to everyone who has raced and run today 👊

When my alarm went off this morning I was tempted to roll over but then I thought no “ I did not leave the party at midnight (no mean feat when you’re five gins in) to miss my morning run”.
I’ve loved having my Belfast belles over this week, but it has meant a lot more boozing than I normally would during a working week ...... but you just gotta keep lacing up and getting out there, cause the miles don’t run themselves 💪🏃♀️
FYI 32km after a few gin and tonics really isn’t as bad as you’d think 😉.
A break from the high humidity made this morning's 5-mile run practically perfect in every way. A great playlist helps, too, especially when it includes a few songs by that guy called Eminem.
SUNDAY RUNDAY 💪
Had 15 on the schedule, but I felt so good I kept going! I honestly still feel like I have some energy in the tank 🤪
17 feel good miles on this lovely morning/afternoon!
2 months until marathon weekend! Detroit, get ready! 🎉🎊
So different to my last 12 miler, loved every mile today 💫
Following an easy week after last weekends racing my legs were in the game from the start add in some good tunes from @fudgieruns
, cheers buddy🙌🏻 and we were off. I find running with music really helps put a spring in my step. It also made me think back to my early 20s when I used to drive round the countryside with my hubs & sis looking for raves so we could dance in fields or barns until dawn. I was lucky at this point we were living together but my younger sis was still at home so she had many a slipper chucked at her 🍑 for keeping our parents up all night!! Always a rebel that one🤣🤣 I’m the quiter better behaved daughter, wouldn’t dream of leading her astray 😜 Anyway being the dinosaur that I am I’m talking about the great 80s when you were all probably not even born 🦖🦕😱
Right I’m off to cook the Sunday roast now as hubs is decorating 🍖🍗🥦🥂Wish me luck in the Yorkie challenge 👊🏻

Smiling bc it's over. Good thing you can't really see my face bc it would read 'death by long run'. My overall pace looks pretty. But dont let it fool you.
The workout was a 19 mile progression run. Which I was on target for until about mile 15 when I faded HARD and rode the struggle bus the rest of the way home. I'm honestly surprised I made it home bc I felt like I was just shuffling my feet the last 2 miles. Also, I stopped twice to refill my water bottle and I also hit a couple stop lights, but let's be honest, I stopped for longer than I needed to bc, well, I was struggling.
My wonderful coach, @itsheathersturn
made me feel a lot better when I got done, pointing out that I started going kinda fast early on, which I'm sure contributed to me not being able to continue my progression. AND for 14 miles, my average pace was 8:20, which when you factor in the 69° dew point, that's my goal marathon pace (8:06ish). So YAY for that. ALSO this was my highest milegar week EVER at 54.5 miles! So this run was on some pretty tired legs haha.
I was really struggling to see any positives from this run, but thankfully I have a coach, who happens to be a self proclaimed data nerd and was easily able to point out the strengths from this run. ALSO this run was a great reminder of how you probably shouldn't stop during a run when you're struggling bc starting up again is hard af. So maybe just slow the pace instead.
Oh. And tomorrow starts peak week. BRING. IT. ON.

Set my alarm for 5 a.m. to do my 10 miles before church. Woke up to my alarm and a splitting headache. Took some medicine and went back to bed. Woke up to go to church came home with a slight headache but still went out for my run. I had a mile warm up, 4 miles up and around the lake and back, pit stop for some water, back up park around back, and one mile cool down. The goal was a pace of 9:30 to 9:42 and no stops. All is going well tell about mile 4 to 5 coming out of the park and that suspicious vehicle and man that I saw the other day was pulling in to the park. Decided to call the police department to report a suspicious vehicle he has a Nebraska license plate number of 7-A5830. Stayed on the phone with the dispatcher tell the police department showed up and the man exited the Park police were going after him. Immediately called my best friend and stay on the phone till I stopped for my water break. I went back out to the park and didn't see him anymore and finish up my miles. I did text 2 others on my run, and I stopped a few time the last 5 miles and update people. I would rather stop and update them stay on pace and people worry. Still managed and average pace of 9:38 for 10.22 miles.
I am beyond grateful to all who helped me out today. I pray you all stay safe on your runs and make sure someone always knows where you are going, and what time you'll be back.

Sunday breakfast done right! Got a busy day ahead preparing for the week ahead, so this breakfast was exactly what I needed. Perfectly cooked @vitalfarms
eggs + uncured bacon + two slices sprouted toast with a spread of light butter and homemade HUCKLEBERRY jam we made with berries we picked. Amazinggggg. Day 7 of eating so so good and getting in over 150oz water each day. Feeling SO good! 💜🌿 #IRunThisBody #BlissfullyBalanced #MyComeback
Did 6mi with some running friends and then finished off the last 3mi solo. I’m one of those people who loves the longer run. I don’t know if it’s the distance or the fact that my long runs are reserved for days when I am not in a rush. But I love me a good long run. •
Finished off my run with a parking lot selfie in front of my fav post race spot... can you see it in the pic 😂
Smiling because I finished my longest run in over a year (17 miles). Started with an easy pace, worked down, and saved the fastest mile for last (6:42).
I’m not running today, but my emotions are RUNNING high during this PCS!!! 😭 The reality of coming back to Cali, us needing to be on an 8am flight tomorrow, and our house in COMPLETE chaos. (see story for the mess I’m living in 🙈) #SendReinforcements
THIS IS THE PLACE... where it all started. Over 2.5 years ago I joined @otfsojo
to get wedding ready while maintaining my sanity during studies for the Bar exam. Since then I’ve been a member at @otfcapitola
plus visited countless other studios. I feel so blessed to have found a killer community and so many wonderful friends throughout my splat journey. #iLOVEotf
Me: we gotta get a fun pic, bc we had fun today.
: not impressed, Nat🤣
But seriously, like @run_rhandi_run
said, you gotta have fun doing it. This was seriously, a fun run, was it not @codutes
5 easy mile warm up,
Then turned on the tunes for both of us and hit 10 miles with @codutes
at her MP(8:00-7:50) which she nailed, on hills besides. Then after she finished around 15 ish miles, I picked up pace slightly to something comfortable that I settled into for the last 5, which I purposely hit the bigger hill at the end twice to make it a bit more challenging. Today, was just 20 miles on a hilly route, which I managed to find a route with about 500ft of gain, which is great for me bc we live where it’s all flat. Had to drive about 20 min, but worth it. (Swipe for splits if interested) Another feel good long run, love these long runs!
Hope everyone has a great Sunday funday runday, have fun! 🤪

Compression socks and trails😌 almost feels like marathon training. Except, basically the opposite. Took 3 days off to ease this lower leg pain issue. Added in stretching, more compression and running on soft surfaces for today's run. I think it's helped and I felt mostly pain free, but could tell if I went faster or further it might not have been great. This weekend I initially planned my 10 mile long run with a couple tempo miles thrown in, but didn't feel right. I'm hoping maybe another week of more easy running and attention to rehabbing will be a better investment than trying to plow throw a potential injury. 6 weeks until the first half the season! 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️
