I often get asked about Iron Man Triathlon races: "Ben, why do you do that, why put yourself through that....why do you 'tri'?"
ANSWER: "...it's not about the race, it's about who you become getting to the finish line."
It's not "why", it's "who", and here's one of the MANY "who's" I do it for and why I LOVE Iron Man!!! Marcus Cook - This guy weighed almost 500 pounds 3 years ago when he volunteered at an Iron Man race in Texas.
A friend of his Chuck Dalio, who was diagnosed with cancer said:
"Marcus, I am dying from an incurable disease.....you are dying by choice"
This past weekend Marcus finished Iron Man Kona, the SUPERBOWL of triathlons, where the best of the best and the most inspirational people come to change their lives.
A 2.4 mile swim in the ocean, a 112 mile bike ride, followed up with a 26.2 mile marathon.
46-year old Marcus said:
"I'm the fattest, slowest professional athlete on the Ironman circuit. Twenty-thousand people are going to watch my fat stomach flopping as I enter the water with my shirt off, but if those people see that I can do this, then maybe they’ll want to try it, too.”
3 years later, Marcus Cook crosses the finish line at Kona:
"...Marcus Cook....YOU Are An Iron Man!!!"
I believe we are all here to change the world and inspire others!!!
If you are ready for change....if you are brave enough to be an inspriation....message me.
