This is something I will probably say a multitude of times because I think everyone needs to hear it, myself included.
Do not be sorry for being an introvert.
We don't need to apologize for not going out on a Friday, and we don't need to apologize for not spending time with a friend. Our alone time is what energizes us, and there is a real, tangible toll that our body takes when we don't get that time.
Our bodies as introverts respond to having to much stimulation, which can cause an introvert hangover. Yes, that is a real thing. When this happens, you may feel exhausted, feel foggy, and you might actually get sick. It is a similar reaction to having too much stress. Rather than pushing ourselves, we need to listen to our bodies and recharge when we feel drained.
When someone feels unwell, no one expects them to go out and socialize, neither should us introverts. When you are feeling drained, you don't need to force yourself to get up and go hang out with that friend or go to that party just because you feel bad about saying no. Listen to your body, and don't push past your limit. If someone doesn't understand, that's on them, not on you.
I feel like introverts as a whole tend to push themselves farther than we should for the sake of others, and I totally get it, I do it too. But we need to start teaching ourselves that our health comes first, then socializing. Don't get me wrong, socializing is very important for any human, but we can't constantly push ourselves past our limit. It's time to stop saying sorry for what we simply cannot control and understand this is just how we are wired, and nothing more.
"I may not be there yet but I'm closer than i was yesterday"💓💪
Don't try to be better than somebody else, be better than who you were yesterday! That's the person you need to compete with each day to better than!! 😘
Don't be hard on yourself cause were not perfect at all! We can just do our best!👍 A step forward to living a healthier and better life is better than just saying that you'll get to it the next day, cause we all know how that goes!! 💃
