What are some films that you thought were going to be lame or stupid, but you actually ended up really liking them once you saw them? In other words, what movies surprised you once you saw them?
I'm usually pretty good at determining whether or not a movie will suck, but these ones completely took me by surprise:
: I assumed this would be a mindless horror flick. How wrong I was. Not only is it extremely funny, but it is non stop entertainment.
: I remember seeing previews for this one and figured it would be another big budget, overblown CGI disaster. Not only is the script riveting and smart, it's an exceptionally beautiful looking movie, with incredible cinematography and visuals.
: I didnt even know this film existed for the longest time and when I learned that it did, I figured it would be reductive and boring. It turned out to be ne of the best sequels ever made in my eyes, equaling and, in some cases, surpassing the original.
: a movie starring Paris Hilton doesnt seem like it would bode well, but this flick is actually incredibly directed, flawlessly written, and stands out as one of the most enjoyable remakes I've seen
: typically not a fan of these types of films but this one had me laughing and crying and everything in between.
: a movie about Lego? Somehow this turned out to be my favourite computer animated film, beating out Toy Story. Was not expecting this to be as incredible as it is.
: I didnt think we needed a movie about the Boston bombing, since it was a story we all knew too well. But oh boy was I wrong. This film had me on the edge of seat, riveted, unable to look away. And surprising of all, it's highly rewatchable.
