Day 5 of standing meditation done and done โค . The whole zhan zhuang practice is an interesting process. There's always improvement. There's always changes. Pretty cool stuff ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘Œ . It just rained (again) so the mosquitos were absolutely savage. Full disclosure, I did 5 minutes outside, and then finished with another 10 indoors ๐Ÿ‘ . Did you stand today? ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ‘Š
Definitely not standing meditation, but for day 4 of the zhan zhuang challenge just called for lying down meditation ๐Ÿ˜Ž . Even though the physical aspect isn't the main focus, awareness and being present is. 20 minutes is a good time frame to shoot for โค

Last night #20method practice, training, drill work and review. This unique #shaolin form earned me teaching certification from the great grand master Ta Jia Lee back in 2008, four years into training #internalkungfu with him specifically. I trained two women in a group class setting. They flew all the way from New Jersey to train under the top student of #Kwokwongai , the founder of #kwoklineage . In stead of training them himself, he tasked me to get the job done. The good old days with my main man Big Dave! judging by my tats this is probably around 16years ago. I had already stopped pumping weight for a couple of years here but I was still around 82kgs. My max was 87 with less body fat than this (I hope to find a photo of those days). . Eventhough I'm 10kgs lighter than what I was in this photo, I feel much more powerful. This is ofcourse thanks to the #cstwingchun Kung Fu method of training I've been doing in these past couple of decades. Size isn't everything when it comes to combat! Having said that, Big Dave went to the army and when he got back he started working out. He's now 130kgs and wants to have a grappling match with me this month ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜… . Have you ever found an exercise that is so well rounded, that it fits many of your training requirements? ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ . One of those exercises is the kettlebell snatch! Why you ask? ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž . The kettlebell half snatch is what I'm showing here. The full snatch doesn't lower the bell to the rack position, but instead goes from the top position to swing back between the legs to repeat the movement ๐Ÿš€ . The half snatch is good for those of us who want to lessen the ballistic motion of the exercise due to a lower back or knee issue, and still safely reap the benefits of the snatch โค๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’› . Important points to focus on include keeping your back flat, knees behind the toes, and a powerful hip snap ๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ

A very cool Sunday morning functional strength circuit to share with you ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’™ . Do as many Rounds as possible in 20 minutes: ๐Ÿ•ข๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ•ข๐Ÿ‘ - Alt switch knee / high knee - Double kettlebell military press - Kettlebell sumo Squat . Do 10 reps for each exercise, and then start all over again. Like I mentioned, do these as many times through as possible in the twenty minute time period ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ . Take breaks as necessary, stay hydrated, and be sure to check with your doc before you start any exercise program ๐Ÿ˜Ž . Have fun and train safely โค

After a workout, as you try to catch your breath and your heart rate slows down, there is a feeling of accomplishment as your sweat drips down your face ๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜“ . Then there's the release of stress, and the feeling of shedding your old self as you take one step closer to the new you that you're working on becoming ๐Ÿ”ฅ . Embrace the sweat that drips o to your lips, as you taste the salty fruit of your efforts, and embrace the feeling of your clothes sticking to your body as your sweat shows you the visible product of your hustle and grind โค๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’› . AND here it is.....The final piece of the greatest martial arts warmup ever ๐Ÿ”ฅ . Your stretching pretty much everything in this exercise. Torso, shoulders, hip flexors, and hamstrings ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ . Throughout this entire set, you can adjust the number of reps, sets, relaxation, or tension to change it up as you see fit ๐Ÿ‘Š . Have fun, and train safe โค
Belief - Potential - Action - Results ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‘ . Do you remember the first time you tried to swim, or throw a punch or kick, or ride a bike? . Most likely it all started with a small thought. A belief that this is a task you could probably do ๐Ÿ‘ . Napoleon Hill's belief cycle is a simple template that leads us from starting and doing, to building confidence from achievement, and then keeping the cycle going ๐Ÿ˜Ž .
