So my feasting time has ended and my fasting time has begun. I fast 16 hrs. and eat 8. Here's a glimpse into my first day of eight weeks of keto, and as you can see I did not meet the goal on any of my Macros. I even fell short on the calories, but I dont feel hungry I feel really full and I won't beat myself up like I usually do, but I know this is no good. A common question I get asked...
Let's talk sensibly here...
😋Think back to when our ancestors would eat plenty of foods in the summer months when the harvest was ripe and the food was plentiful.
Their bodies would naturally store the excess food as body fat, which is what it’s meant to do. In the winter months, there would be forced periods of fasting where there just wasn’t food available.
🙃Now it would be pretty silly to think that the first place our bodies would go to for this energy would be our muscle right? It’s going to get it from the stored body fat...
To emphasise the point, imagine that same person stores firewood for the winter months.
🏠Piles and piles of it are stored around the house...
🔥Now when winter comes and the fire gets lit they’re not going to immediately start chopping up the couch, are they?
👍They’re going to use the stored wood just as our bodies do with fat.
Mr Crews also describes fasting as his own "Fountain Of Youth". This is because when your body goes through periods of fasting it is forced into repairing or destroying bad cells. This is called Autophagy and will lead to longer-term health.

Today is day one of my attempt at the Keto diet. I am going in with an open mind with realistic expectations that staying under 20-25 carbs per day is really freaking hard as nearly everything has carbs in it. I’m also back at intermittent fasting with an 18-6 window and gave up my energy drinks a couple of weeks ago. The love for Wine is a work in progress but hey...we’ve all gotta have one vice, right? Tonight’s run fell flat after the first mile and once it’s in my head I can’t...I don’t...so with lots of walking we finished our 3 mile run in 87 degree temps and a gajillion percent humidity, lol. I believe that two years is enough time for anyone to achieve any reasonable dream that they have. My dream is to have my coaching practice as my sole source of income, have 6 or more clients and lastly get my dream car a Tesla Model 3. Side note: Reasons why you should never say never.. Last year I said I wouldn't bulk and don't need to bulk🙉🙊... Well I've decided not to bulk but to find a higher coloric homeostasis by gaining more muscle mass while maintaining a set calorie need. Taco Monday is a thing, right? I mean, as far as I’m concerned, there’s no wrong day to eat a taco. 🌮 These were so incredibly greasy and delicious. I make my own taco seasoning to avoid the extra carbs from the store bought stuff. This time instead of following a recipe, I just poured in cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and chilli powder until I was happy. Soooo much 🌶, it was delicious.

Today was 💯!! I was up by 4:45, got to the gym by 5 am, and got in #lgsummerfitcation
week 4 chest & tris, along with a 10 min jog and ab routine.
was a success, as well. Broke my fast at 11:15 with a blueberry protein smoothie, lunch was lettuce wraps & yogurt, my snack was a strawberry muffin, and dinner was this delicious @skinnytaste
Asian glazed drumsticks with quinoa and broccoli. My eating window just ended so about to enjoy some mint tea and a relaxing night 😊

My weight loss plateaued for several months starting in spring at the exact time I started taking an oral antihistamine for our pollen apocalypse. I found out that antihistamines can block fat loss. While I am not a fan of pharmaceuticals, East Tennessee’s geography tends to concentrate allergens pretty badly, so sometimes medication is unavoidable. The good news is that there are options, don’t be afraid to to talk to a doctor or pharmacist about other options. In my case, we were able to switch me over to nasal sprays along with Chinese herbs and salt therapy to provide relief without interfering with my fat metabolism. As soon as I was off the oral antihistamine, I started losing again.

These ribs are about 95% fat. But we got them for free so I guess I won’t complain. 😬 only had a few bites.... And I kind of put too much butter on my potatoes but it was kind of awesome.
Now I will let my body rest, heal, digest and repair for 19 hours. Ish... 🤐
