A morning not so fun! Hitting a record below 70 again since morning... How would you prevent low blood sugars in the morning?
ℹ Make sure to regularly check your glucose levels, especially before bed. Also, and most importantly, consider using a Continuous Glucose Monitoring device - CGM, as it alerts you when your blood sugar goes too low or too high.
Try achieving the following guidelines to stay as healthy as possible: ◇ Before breakfast:
70 - 130 mg/dl ◇ Before lunch, dinner or snacks:
70 - 130 mg/dl ◇ Two hours after meals:
Below 150 mg/dl ◇ Bed time:
90 - 150 mg/dl
Even if you are a non-diabetic, however you experience regular hypo or hyper-glycemia, you may also want to periodically check your Glucose levels. Also trying to keep your levels away from dropping below 100 mg/dl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
📣 Whether you have diabetes or not, follow these tips to avoid waking up with low blood sugars: ♤ Eat balanced meals, with healthy carbs, proteins and fats regularly throughout the day ♤ Have a bedtime snack ♤ Avoid exercising too much at night time, and practice more day time ♤ If you drink alcohol, avoid excessive intake, and have a snagk with it.
Remember: Always consult your doctor, to make any adjustments to your medication and insulin dosing.
Did a #dexcomg6
change last night✨ filmed my whole process and will be posting it tomorrow! How are you guys feeling about the G6? Sound off below! Personally I love it, love the applicator, so thankful for no calibrations and it’s been doing SO MUCH BETTER about losing service on it but I’m very happy, so thank you @dexcom
, I wish I had been able to find a spot a bit more visible since I LOVE it being out in the open but I decided to put it on my upper thigh! #wheresyourdex

A whole different kind of shots were had today....flu shots! My wife and I went and got flu shots today, and my roommate is getting hers tomorrow! On top of having Type 1 Diabetes, our roommate is a thyroid cancer survivor with a weakened immune system as well!
🥔Have you made your own oil-free baked potato fries yet?
This is a delicious, yet EASY meal or main entree idea that you’ll probably want to make over and over again as soon as you realize how tasty it is!
🍠Just slice up a potato (white, yellow, orange, purple, or a combo of various colors) and bake in your oven on a silicon cookie sheet. This prevents any need for oil to keep the potatoes from sticking to the cookie sheet.
You could also cook the potatoes in an air fryer.
🍅Then make your own ketchup with fresh or sun-dried tomatoes pureed with your favorite spices and some dates to sweeten it up.
🤓Potatoes are high in vitamin C, fiber, and a variety of beneficial phytonutrients. When you leave out the sour cream, butter, bacon bits, and oil, potatoes are an extremely nutritious and delicious food choice for people living with diabetes.
I have an appointment with my endocrinologist tomorrow and honestly, I am so excited for it! I think my A1C has gone up a bit, but nothing my endo and I can’t troubleshoot and get better control of. But, mostly, I am excited to tell my doc about the additional weight I’ve lost! In total, over the last roughly 2.5 years (a few months before T1D diagnosis), I have lost 47 lbs and gone down 3 clothing sizes — which is why this pic is being taken from the fitting room! 😜 It has not been easy at all. I have struggled, I have cried, I have complained to my endo countless times about how hard it is to exercise with type 1 diabetes. Workouts were hard on my blood sugar; eating carbs just to be able to withstand a complete workout without going low is beyond frustrating. My endo would have to continually remind me that even though I wasn’t seeing changes on the scale, I was still reaping the benefits on my heart, lungs, and other areas of the body to keep me healthy! In my head I would roll my eyes, even though what he was saying was absolutely true! .
I started really wanting to lose weight after I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes because of the misdiagnosis of type 2 I received from other doctors. They really harped on me about my weight and said I needed to basically stop eating carbs and I could lose the weight and reverse my “type 2 diabetes.” Obviously, we know how that story ended — I was properly diagnosed as a T1D very quickly after. I never wanted another doctor to look at me and think my diabetes came from my weight. It was insulting and hurtful when my PCP suggested I lose weight so I could decrease or go off of insulin, even after my endocrinologist had properly diagnosed me with T1. Funny thing is, I take more insulin now then I did back then with all the extra weight! My goal was to get down to a normal BMI, so doctors would stop focusing on my weight as being the cause of my diabetes. I’m still 15 lbs away from that goal, but I plan to get there! To be clear, my endo never pressured me to lose weight, he has always been 100% supportive and encouraging with my diabetes and entire health picture 💙👨🏻⚕️
Que rico competir! 🚴 🏃🏼 🚴
Dolió pero se gozó! 🤕
Recuperando ritmos de competencia! 🔥 (Ojalá regresen rápido 😅) #JustDoIt
💙We had Tre's endocrinology appointment today. They made a mistake in scheduling and we haven't seen them for 6 months, so today was for correcting prescriptions, getting a new Dex prescription, and tweaking all doses because I'm drowning in crazy numbers these last couple months!! A1C is 7.2, which some say is great, I say is too high for him. So reeeeeally praying he gets approved for the Dexcom and we can try to get better control of his numbers again! It's so HARD!! And some of you parents do this with 2, 3, even 4 T1Ds!!! Howwwwww!🙀 The best part about today, is seeing his doctor, Doctor Kate, who also has type 1 diabetes! She just KNOWS, ya know? She doesn't question me endlessly about numbers I can't explain, doesn't make me feel bad about our rough few weeks...she looks me in my eyes and says "IT'S DIABETES, AND IT'S HARD. You're doing really great!" She also let's Tre hear his own heartbeat, so she's like his bestie👫👩⚕️ (and mine🤫)
Here's to waiting to see if insurance thinks my kid is worth more test strips and a Dexcom!🙄👍🏼👊🏼 #fighter #readyforit

Today has gotten progressively worse! Cannula changed ✔️ Temp basal increased ✔️ Low carb snacks ✔️ Plenty of fluids ✔️NOTHING is improving his levels 🤦🏼♀️. Zero ketones picked up which is great but why the highs?! He’s symptom free but had a headache for two days, Friday and Saturday just gone. #T1 #diabetes #Medtronic640G #InsulinPump #InsulinDependent #YouGotThisBailey
🎯T1D at the Range🎯
I’m at the range...looking through the scope...about to pull the trigger with every intention of hitting the target. 😬. Yup, the story of my life... and yet I can still get so frustrated over a number. I work so hard to make sure everything is right...I calculate the distance just like my carbs, I apply the learnings from my previous shot, I make the needed adjustments, I take the shot, and I still mess… My number is still off. It has taken me a while not to let numbers frustrate me and now I just try to think of it as a place in time...as a range.
Do you ever get frustrated with your number? How do you work through it?

Baked beans on toast 😲
1 control portion?
2 increase dose of short term insulin?
3 stop eating Baked Beans?
4 learn to count carbs better?
Happy Birthday Greek yogurt+blackberries breakfast to me!
Guys this is Britt & we’ve been best friends since we were 9 years old & one night while we were drunk I asked if she wanted to know what it feels like to take an insulin shot & she let me stab her with an insulin pen needle & I’ve never felt more loved supported & understood than in that moment 😂😂😂😂 She also spent her Saturday night at my diabetes party with a bunch of diabetics & I really couldn’t ask for a better diabuddy even if she doesn’t have diabetes 😂😂😂 get you a Britt!
