My road towards baptism 💒 Last Part, divided in two posts.
⛪ 🎉 Today is my first baptism anniversary. Last year at 19, being 3 months pregnant, I received baptism, got confirmed and received the Holy Eucharist for Easter. I tell the whole story through 5 different posts on here and this is the last part of it, end of the story in the post right after this one. 🎉 ⛪
For over a year, I met with one of our Canons once or twice every month. On one side, alone to study catechism, on the other with Florent to prepare us for marriage. In the beginning I was scared to go because I had panicked a bit the first time I went there. I remember actually not going once, I sent a message saying I was too scared that I would feel bad again. My canon has been so patient with me during this time and I will never thank him enough. Eventually I went back the time after that one and everything went well from there. I had my own reasons to feel scared that I will share when it's time.
We married 💍 on September 30th of 2017. We went to the city hall, then to Mass all together (wihtout it being a marriage Mass). My dear Canon blessed a magnificient crucifix my mom had bought, for us to put in the center of our home. I feel grateful that our priests agreed to celebrate this Mass. I knew it was not what they were used to and they must have prayed for discernment over our situation. I also feel grateful that my husband has never said anything about my faith. No he does not believe, but at least he is not against it. I have good hopes for us and for him, I trust that God will finish what he has started, and I see our son as the proof that God has something in store for his father. Our wedding was beautiful, and we can't wait to marry in Church one day.
By January of 2018, I knew that this time I would be baptized on Easter. I wanted to have the same fruitful lent as I had the year before but... End of the story right in the next post. 😊
