💜💜AUTUMN SHED💜💜 here’s the not so fun part about shedding! Unfortunately twice a year our bodies shed anywhere there’s hair including our lovely lashes! Mine have been shedding since the beginning of the month but I am seeing clients shed as well. During this time expect the lashes to not be as full as you’re used to. But not to worry before you know it it’ll be back to what’s normal for you. Here’s a better explanation as to why and what to expect for this short amount of time thanks to @frankiewiddows
😉👌🏽💜........................................................... Autumn lash shed tends to start October and can last until beginning of December depending on the climate of where you live, during this time you will find that you will loose your natural lashes more than usual and have lots of new growth (anagen/baby) lashes. So why does this happen?
We have hair to protect us from the sun, so in the autumn and winter we no longer need as much hair as we have less exposure to the sun, so we start to shed it. Those of you who have animals think about how you find their hair everyone at this time of year as they are shedding it. Or you find hair in the plug hole more than usual when washing your hair! In order for our bodies to produce hair it must pump blood to those cells, but in the winter when our immunity is lower due to lack of vitamin D (due to lack of sun) our bodies will divert blood to our major organs instead of our hair which we no longer really need.
So what to do as a technician during autumn lash shedding season:
Lash lighter - use a thinner thickness lash, and or for volume drop dimension of fans
Get clients in for infills more regularly
