N E W B R U N S W I C K -
Today I’m starting my reportage on my holidays in Canada. 🐻 🇨🇦
I visited in 2011 and 2014, but only the main cities of Québec. This time, the main purpose of our trip was to visit Gaspésie (Quebec) and Nova Scotia, but we had to drive through New Brunswick and made interesting stops there.
The site of Fort Beauséjour is located in the isthmus of Chignecto, a neck of land connecting New Brunswick with Nova Scotia. It is a large five-bastioned star fort built by the French in 1751-1752 and surrendered to the British in 1755. Due to its location, the fort played a strategic role in the Anglo-French war of 1749-63 to control North America.
My very first glimpse in this trip also sums it all: Large and wild spaces, rich history, sense of freedom, summer sky. Stay tuned for more! 😄
