Forgotten Comic: Fear Agent [2005-2018] by Rick Remender with art by Tony Moore and Jerome Opeña. This book is one I hardly see mentioned, but the quality is astounding. Fear Agent is a Dark Horse and Image published book following the tale of an alien exterminator, or “Fear Agent”, named Heath Huston. Heath is a hard drinking redneck from Texas who spends most of his days talking with his ship’s onboard A.I., Annie. This story takes many twists and turns and it’d be a disservice if I spoiled any of them here for you. This comic is truly a throwback to the glory days of Science Fiction where the strange and bizarre elements were proudly on display. This book starts deceptively simple, but ends up displaying almost every classic Sci-Fi trope along the way. Fear Agent starts with a quote by Rick Remender saying “Sci-Fi lost its stones”, and this series shows he intends to fully add his spin into the genre with this book. Equal parts Adam Strange and Doctor Who, with a lot of Mad Max style elements thrown in as well. If you enjoy Fallout or Borderlands, Dune, Star Wars, Dredd, Blade Runner or anything vaguely Sci-Fi or retro-future styled along with the genre tropes that go along with it, this book is a can’t miss. ——————————————————————-
