I remember when i stepped on the scale in my boyfriends moms room and it read 114. For. The. First. Time. Ever. As a teenager I struggled with my body image. I was not built like the popular early 2000’s celebrities who were lean and straight. I had thick thighs and junk in my trunk but I was obsessed with being as tiny as possible. That number stuck in my head for YEARS. It felt like a failure every day I didn’t move closer to it. Then I graduated college. Then I had a baby. Then i had a full time career and a mortgage and two kids and and and... 114 may or may not ever happen again. But I can’t compare my body now to my body then. And thank heavens because while high school Becka may have weighed less, her confidence and self esteem were a hot mess! 🚨🚨🚨 #tbt post 🎉 Seriously though.... from a size 28 to a size 6/8? Sometimes I cant believe this body 🙌🏼 It hasnt been easy, ya'll 🙃 been fighting regain (and been winning). Currently back to my 174lbs where I hope to stay FOREVAAAA!! Eating less. Being more mindful of my choices. Feeling hungry is a bitch but I quickly learned that you DO NOT have to give into the feeling of hunger. I repeat... YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE IN.🙅🏻‍♀️ I'm always hungry now.... and it took all of 2017 to realize I cant just eat all day long just because I FEEL hungry. As long as I'm nourished and hydrated, it's ok to not give in to hunger. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It wont kill you. Yes, feeling hungry is rough... but portion control and having self control goes beyond the gastric sleeve.... its mental as well! 🧠 You have to put in the work... whether its eating less and counting calories or hitting the gym hard, sacrifice is required one way or another! It started with an idea then it turned into a goal. I wrote it out and researched it. Gave it to God and trusted in his timing. . I embraced the setbacks because it taught me a lesson. I never gave up and kept moving forward. . I am not perfect but still striving for perfection is what keeps me motivated. . I now have a new journey that I have wanted since 2014. I will stay focused and I will leave it to God! I will trust in the process and I will never give up! ❤️
@Regran_ed from @myadventuretofit - It was such an amazing feeling being able to attend my brothers wedding without spending hours in the dressing rooms hating every single dress I tried on. In the photo on the left I remember being invited to a formal event and literally going to every single department store at the mall and every single dress I tried on I hated and I wanted to break down and cry at the way that none of them were what I wanted and I hated the way I looked and felt. After settling for a dress, I remember spending 3 hours doing my hair and makeup trying to make up for the lack of self confidence I had. In the photo on the right, I grabbed the first dress I saw hanging on a rack, ran into the dressing room, tried it on and bought in under 5 minutes. No crying, no panicking, no wanting to back out of the event due to hating everything about the way I looked - it was so easy. Such a huge #nonscalevictory ♥️ #beforeandafterweightloss
I wanted to contribute. ✖️ Don’t get me wrong, being a mom and wife is the best part of my life, but I desired to do something more...something that filled my cup as an individual, something that contributed to our house. Guess what? I like Target, Starbucks, and going out for dinner on a whim! You know what that required? Me finding a #sidehustle that would work WITH me being a stay at home mom. So, I started looking up data entry jobs and things I could do at home with my babies that would still allow me to bring home a paycheck. Wanna guess something else? I hated data entry. 😂 Nothing wrong with it AT ALL, but it wasn’t for me. You know what I LOVE to do? Chat with people! Make new friends! 🙌🏼 I mean, not always in person cause I’m a secret introverted extrovert. 😜 So, when I saw an opportunity to be the best version of my self, help others do the same, pay our bills and then some*, I jumped in. Has it been easy? No! But hard work is required when you’re making your dreams a reality. Three years ago I couldn’t have imagined I’d be here, and I am beyond grateful. 🙌🏼 So now it’s your turn. PERSPECTIVE 🖤💚 . . This team & curling in general are a HUGE part of my life. Basically, if it's not curling season, we are busy planning and preparing for the next season type deal. Often our lives revolve around the curling season. We have that fire for competition, self & team improvement, & some huge goals going forward . . Obviously, it came as a bit of a shock on the 5th when I wouldn't be flying out to Thunder Bay to curl for a week... but rather be having emergency surgery in Toronto and work towards saving both these babies in my belly 👶👶. It really puts everything into perspective pretty darn fast! . . There's going to be more curling events... team trips... goals getting crushed... all that jazz. After finding out I was carrying twins, we knew that we would more than likely be needing a spare ... just with the uncertainty of a multiple pregnancy 🤰 . . These gals went on to play amazing at the Slam - making it to the semi final & I know they are going to continue to grow and push hard the remainder of the season. The twins and my fam have been doing amazing with this surgery & healing process. My main focus right now is to deliver 2 healthy babies and do whatever it takes to make that happen. So for now my mental game is going to be what I am working on curling wise (& my cheering 🤸‍♀️), while these rockstars continue to crush it on the ice 🙌🙌🙌

I’ll be running my 3rd half marathon on Saturday! I’m so excited. Here’s a #tbt to my first two half marathons. The pic on the left is from my first half that I ran in October 2015 when my son was 11 months old. The Runners World Half in Bethlehem Pa is fantastic. I ran a 2:11 despite lots of hills and a sore hip. The pic on the right is from the Scranton Half this past April. Another post baby race when Lana was just 7 months old. This was not a fantastic race for me, but I was proud of my finish despite not training consistently. I ran a 2:24 with positive splits haha. This race has a tough trail section at the end too. I’d be lying if I said I had zero expectations for the Philly half. Ideally I would love to finish. 😉 And if I could come in between my previous finish times, I would be thrilled. But if not, that will be ok too. This is my first big city race so I want to soak it all in and enjoy being part of it. More than just the race, I cannot wait to hang out with @vanessacstella , indulge in some glorious brunch after and enjoy the city! I get asked a lot how I overcame my binge eating disorder, and honestly the biggest thing that help me get over binge eating was simply actually eating real meals!!! I know that sounds so simple but it's true!! When I first started trying to get over binge eating, I would meal prep a bunch of meals that I knew were full of healthy fats carbs and protein and I would just make random food that I knew was healthy and good so I would have healthy food available whenever I was hungry which didn't give me the chance to binge on junk!! Also the support and accountability group with my other 365 girls was a total life changer when it came to being accountable with eating clean and not binging.
I’ve been feeling super tired starting around the afternoon... I mayyyybe go workout 1-2 times a week. I am eating pretty healthy due to my need to eat gluten free. I honestly don’t feel guilty for missing the gym. As a mom of 3 kids you don’t get to nap or be lazy. My 7 month old alone has me up 3-4 times a night and constantly on the move. Add a crazy 4 year old and a spunky 9 year old to the mix.. well you get it. I’m up about 3-4 pounds since my lowest weight loss during postpartum. I can’t really say since pregnancy since I didn’t find out until 16 weeks🙈 I started out very differently than other pregnant women. »DO NOT COMPARE YOUR JOURNEY TO MINE! The most beautiful thing I’ve noticed about pregnancy since I seem to be a pro (laughs!!) is that they are all different. They are all sooooo different!!! Do not feel ashamed if you are showing at 7 weeks or looking 30 weeks pregnant at 20 weeks. I have more exciting news to share tomorrow..⁣ ⁣ But today was a big day for me. I sent in my recognition to letter to close the door with the company I signed on with. Just like that..⁣ ⁣ Signed. Sealed. Delivered.⁣ ⁣ I have been in network marketing for the last four years, and I am beyond grateful for a everything I learned along the way. It has been the biggest blessing to me in so many ways, and I have learned so many life lessons that have shaped me into the woman I am today. The crazy part about all this was I 💯 believe it works. It was in June when I stepped out of it to take a break for the summer. I wanted to be mom mode, and not worry about doing anything else. It was amazing + exactly what I needed.⁣ ⁣ I figured I would rethink everything in the fall.⁣ Fall came + went. I took some time to have a heart to heart with myself, and decided to let it all go {cue let it go song in the background} ❄️ ⁣ Even though I was so at peace with moving into a new chapter in life it took me a good month to finally sign on the dotted line to make it official. It feels so freeing and weird because it became a part of me.⁣ ⁣ I have always believed that closing one door will always open up new opportunities. I am so excited. I will always be a business woman at heart. I swear I exhaust myself with the ideas I have constantly brewing up in my head.⁣ ⁣ I love knowing I get to still support all the #bossbabes out there in different companies. I know the heart + hustle it takes. I can’t say this is a forever thing because life has a way of being life, and throwing a few curve balls. ⁣ ⁣ Cheers to moving forward. Cheers to new official beginnings. Cheers to opportunity.⁣ I really want to thank every single person who has ever supported me in my businesses. You are the ones who have shown me to keep moving and pushing forward. Beyond grateful for the ups +⁣ Downs. The twists + turns. The hard lessons + sweet memories. You lose a little here, a little there . It’s a slow process. You barely notice anything changing at all. You get busy with life: kids, work, running a household, the list goes on and on. You continue to “trust the process” and keep pushing forward with your goals but it’s admittedly not your first priority, because, well there are just some things and people that will always trump your weight loss journey. So although it’s important it’s not the first thing on your mind. But then you wake up one morning and grab that pair of fitted workout leggings, that you could not get up your thighs, just a few months ago, and the slip on like glove!!!! You give yourself a quick smile then get right back to life, because believe it or not, your weight is not the most important thing about you, it’s only a very small little piece of who you are. You are still an incredible Mom, wife, worker, friend, family member etc etc etc. Losing weight is simply: looking after your health but other than that, it defines nothing. I have been ALL sizes and admittedly use to put my worth in my weight and pants size. I can now clearly say that I know I am just as worthy, beautiful and amazing at all the different sizes. Please don’t let anyone convince you of any different. I think making changes with s focus on your health, is always good but don’t get trapped into thinking your life will be better, you will be more attractive or happier if you lose your weight. Your life and you are beautiful as is...your weight should not dictate any of that. 💜🙌
