THRUST HACK‼️: use the decline sit up for a more comfortable thrust! This is one lift I saw a significant weakness in when I first started working out post pregnancy. Which makes sense, because I pretty much eliminated hip thrusts while I was pregnant 🤰🏻. When I started them back up 6 weeks post pregnancy I was thrusting just the bar, maybe 65# total. 9 months later 185# is feeling good and strong 💪🏼 . . . I never thought I’d be part of such a supportive and friendly team and community. It’s hard meeting new people and making friends as an adult. Where do “my people” even hang out? How do you strike up a convo with another mom in Target or picking up your kids from school? At my first live team event I made fast friends with these lovely ladies! The first women I talked to live in surrounding cities to me 😊 I feel like I finally found my tribe! I’ve found a big group of ladies that also help others lead fit and healthy lives! These ladies are inspiring and I’ve learned so much. They’ve given me confidence to be open, confident, and authentic.
Don't let anyone convince you that you can't become your best self as a mom! 🤜🤛 The majority of my workouts result in my kids being included. Of my needing to take breaks to calm tantrums. Exercising in every plane of movement is essential. Moving sideways while training is often overlooked - make sure you’re incorporating some of these movements into your fitness regimen. Life has been pretty busy, and ever since coming home after Emery’s whole ordeal... I just feel like I have been coasting in life. Not that I haven’t been praying {for me it’s journaling}, but feeling a little stuck in that area. It’s the weirdest thing. I have felt God through all of it and know that he has carried me through the complete exhaustion after it hit. This was a good reminder to just make the effort to say hi. Don't ever be afraid to be the only gal at the weight rack in the gym. I remember when I first started working out and I wouldn't set foot near the dumbbell rack. 🏋️‍♀️ It was all CARDIO CARDIO CARDIO! 🏃‍♀️ Part of it was because I didn't know what the flip I was doing back then but mostly I was intimidated by all the huge dudes that swarmed the weight racks like moths to the flame. 🏋️‍♀️ Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a good cardio sweat shesh, but being super ultra fit to me means a healthy heart and strong muscles. 12 days of consistency!!!! WHAT? Yes 12 days, 6 meals each day of CARBS, protein, and fat. I don’t do some crazy fasting, drink a certain coffee, take away my carbs which are OUR ENERGY & how our bodies function (don’t get me started on that) and this is what 12 days looks like!! Up and at it early this morning with my @javahouseindy coffee— dreaming of waking up in a cozy chalet sipping coffee by a fire watching the fresh snow fall overlooking the mountains🧖🏻‍♀️ I start my day at 5:30am five days a week. I love waking up to a quiet house, sipping coffee while planning my day, and getting in a sweat sesh before the sun comes up (and maybe a Target run if I’m really motivated). Target is really peaceful before 8am. What time do you start your day?
👊 I'm not where I want to be yet but I'm 6 weeks closer than I was before! 👊 Heading into the last two weeks and they are SHRED weeks. 😳 Feeling good knowing I've nearly DOUBLED my lifting weights with every muscle group from where I started in Week 1. 💪 And I'm modifying less and less on the cardio moves. 💦 The sweat is real and I'm looking forward to conquering the next two weeks and seeing more gains, losses and victories!! 🙌 . . ⭐ While I'm loving my workouts, it's not the same without other lady bosses joining me! ⭐ If you think you're ready to take the plunge, I'm starting the second round at the beginning of February. 33 Weeks!! My ultrasound went so well yesterday and today I have my normal OB check up so hoping for another smooth appointment (minus Reagan hysterically crying the entire time of course). This week I started the new fitness program I've been talking about. I woke up five days and got in five workouts this week. I have made some pretty significant nutrition changes post holidays too which has led to a two pound cookie loss 🙃 People have asked how I'm going to do a workout program with my baby belly and I love that question because we all have that something we bring to a workout that is an obstacle - it could be an old injury, sore back, tired body, or any other number of things that give us a reason to hold back. Instead of saying that you can't do it or waiting until the timing is right think about all the movements you can do, all the changes to your nutrition you can make, all the ways you can work to improve until you feel like you are living your best life. I get to check into my bootcamp each day and see how people are overcoming teething babies with sleepless nights, early morning wake ups, busy competing work schedules with spouses, concern for motivation, back injuries, shoulder injuries, post partum life, and they push play. They show up and they make themselves a priority. I am so proud and so lucky to be part of this group of inspiring ladies. Who else would love to join us and work together on being the best version of ourselves? Nobody is looking for perfection but we have support and will work to motivate so we can get this done. 1 year, 365 days of this journey. January 9, 2018 - January 9, 2019. Down 90 pounds. I remember sitting in the parking lot on this day last year at Chic Fil A saying "goodbye" to my favorite sandwich. Most of you probably just wake up and go about your day, not even thinking of anything else, but in my house it’s a little different. Each morning upon waking the first thing I do is go to my daughters room to check on her, is she breathing, is she moving and still alive.... every morning when she opens her eyes 👀 I think to myself thank God she is spared another day. . Most people don’t know much about Type 1 Diabetes and how any day any second can be her lasts. No day is promised. One minute she can be super happy playing around and the next minute she can drop and go into a coma..... . What I want you to take away from this is 👉🏼 really appreciate waking up each morning, one more day in this world to make a difference, to make a change and to see those you love. Hello Sunday 👋🏼 This morning the whole family enjoyed some home made Elderberry Syrup. My little one, Isaac, loves it. It tastes delicious and is so full of Flavonoid, Tannins and much more.
