It's that time of the week again! Here are my #newcomicbookday
I'm going with The Green Lantern #1
for my comic of the week because I've been anticipating it so much and it met all my expectations. BUT, let me tell you, Batman 58 narrowly missed out, it was a superb issue.
Cover of the week was between the two @francescomattinaart
variants and I decided to go with his Justice League 11 Cover.
starts his run on The Green Lantern in style with help from some really amazing art by @liammccormacksharp.
The blurb for the series sounded really appealing to me and it's great to finally see things get kicked off here. I'm really liking how the Green Lantern Corps are being referred to as space cops and how new Oa is like their precinct, it's a really cool new take on things. Hal's responsibilities as a Green Lantern mean he's pretty much a nomad at the moment, moving from job to job and place to place, kind of like a modern day cowboy.
Liam Sharp's art is insanely detailed, I found myself going back through the book just admiring the details in the panels. I also like how he's taking inspiration from H.R Giger (Alien artist) in the design of his spaceships, this is really evident on the cover of DC Nation.
Batman 58 was a helluva issue @tomking_tk
shows us a bit more behind the scenes of Bane's machinations to bring down Batman and just how much of a strangle hold he has on Batman's rogues. It also shows the lengths Alfred will go to in order to make sure the Manor and the Batcave stay clean haha. The last couple of pages were VERY tense and emotive. Also it's good to see Penguin back in a Batman comic and it looks like an unlikely team up may be on the cards.
Justice League 11 continues with the Drowned Earth story arc and sees the remaining members looking for ways to bring down the new sea gods. Aquaman persuades Wonder Woman to go to the graveyard of the Gods to seek out Poseidon and regain his powers, but his faith may be misplaced.
Its as action packed as we've come to expect from this new JL series. Also, I'm assuming it was @ssnyder1835
idea to give Superman an eye patch with the Superman S on it 😂, really gave me a good laugh.
