Opening – Lankan Filling Station
---Lankan, Sir Lankan
Known as Ceylon before, almost the size of Tasmania, Sri Lanka’s documented history spans 3,000 years, with evidence of pre-historic human settlements dating back to at least 125,000 years. The island is home to many cultures, languages and ethnicities, and a Sri Lankan meal is made to be shared featuring a selection of curries, sides and sambols.
---A progressive meal
A Sri Lankan meal is an experience of progression. You begin with “short eats”, choose 1 or 2 hoppers to go with curries, vegetables or sambols, then decide how many more hoppers you think you can eat .
After nearly 2-years time in Carriageworks farmer’s market, Chef O Tama Carey @missotama
found a permanent home for her Sri Lankan cooking in East Sydney.
“We’re a casual eatery with a focus on hoppers.” As hoppers are traditionally eaten at any hour, Lankan Filling Station will be open both day and night
