Our September box reveal....Quiver Full! Psalm 127 says, and I’ll paraphrase, “Children are an inheritance from the Lord...like arrows in the hand of a warrior...blessed is he whose quiver is full.” Sweet mamas (and daddies) in waiting, if this scripture frustrates you, I get it! I always cringe a little when I hear that children are a reward from Him. Like I had done something wrong based on my years of infertility. May I just follow with this truth? “He gives the childless couple a family, gives them joy as the parents of children. Hallelujah.”
Let’s rest in this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Guys, every month is an adventure! I’m so thankful for every twist and turn, as well as the constant surprise to my mamas in waiting! You never know what each box will entail. But I can assure you, friends, it’s always a surprise and completely unique to anything you’ve seen in a previous box! Have you subscribed yet? You certainly don’t have to wait alone. ❤️

It was a year ago this weekend that our adoption dreams were shattered. We had been matched with a mother for just over two months. We had begun preparing to bring a little girl home. The week before, we had decided on a name, and we had put it on the nursery wall.
But on Friday, September 15th, 2017, I pieced together a puzzle that would uncover a heart-breaking story. The mother had not only matched with us through an agency, she also matched with another family through another agency. And when our agency tried to reach her and asked her to come in for a meeting, she never showed. They were to finally receive a text stating she couldn’t go through with the adoption. (I’d like to note that she did place with the other family.) We were devastated having to tell our family, friends, and our son that we were scammed. We felt ashamed, like we had done something wrong. But we immediately decided that the devil wasn’t going to rob us of our desire and calling to adopt. We quickly picked ourselves back up. With the help of family, friends, and our church small group, we were able to put together an auction and bbq dinner.
You see, we lost a large sum of money with our failed adoption and we didn’t have the funds to keep moving forward. That was it. Our money was gone, and so was our hope.
While we worked tirelessly to pull together this fundraiser we kept submitting our profile book to expecting mothers. On the third submission, just one day before my birthday, we received a call that we were matched with a couple due in two and a half weeks! Best of all? They were expecting a girl!
Our fundraiser was a huge success, and we recouped every penny we needed to make this adoption happen. Our baby girl was born less than a week later!
I wrote this to share that while your circumstances during your wait may not be what you had dreamed of, don’t give up, it will all be worth it. Each of us has a story, and your story matters. It’s easy to give up on hope. However, you have a have a purpose, and a little one out there is waiting for you.
We are excited to feature another #purlfamily

Looking through my phone pictures and found this one from last Christmas. We had such a great day. Of course Santa Claus paid a visit! Then we all stayed in our Christmas PJs and drove over to my parents House where we cooked breakfast together while we waited on my brother and his Family to arrive. After the boys open their gifts from their grandparents we started cooking a fabulous turkey dinner and finally got out of our Christmas PJs because we had lots of close family friends who came to join our celebration. And we ended the day by letting the boys play while all the adults watched a Christmas story, our favorite movie! Looking forward to this Christmas already and the fun times will have with Troy’s family in Louisiana!
This is when it starts to get real...nursery decorating starts today!
First Time I ever fed our son. I’m sitting in the entry hall to our adoption agency. Crying such happy tears of joy! We look forward to adopting again!
It’s been quite the adventure so far and we are extremely excited to be #homestudyapproved

We’re brushing up on this...just because 😉
We had so much fun last month visiting our family in Chicago. We went to this beautiful park and he couldn’t wait to show mama the flowers!
I love listening to him tell me something he’s really excited about!
I 💙 this adoption adventure again. Upside down and crazy as it feels it is going to be fun and amazing. I have been needing to feel happy over it again.
We had a really great meeting with our foreign adoption attorney this week. Jason and I both walked away from it feeling all excited and empowered, by gaining some much needed understanding. The timeline is still a little blurry as things get rolling but at this point there is nothing stopping it from happening and that is good. All of a sudden the whole process and it’s twists and turns do not seem so imaginary! We have a better vision of how things are now and felt a sigh of relief “WOW. This adoption is a real thing!” And the best part is that when it actually starts we will be living it. We will get it to make decisions, feel it all, fall in love with a whole country, and cherish a child forever.
