My Grandmother tried to grow Concord grapes but they never really took. When we bought her house we let some areas that she always mowed go wild & look what came back! Natural arbors provided by the saplings, with the only downside being they're 11 feet above my head! The grapes are amazing though, letting these crisp nights sweeten them up & hoping to harvest this weekend. 🌿 #concordgrapes #growyourownfood #homesteading #mainefarms #harvest #letitgowild
Best part of my day?
Spraying my kids with a hose. 💦Hands down.
Sometimes I wonder how I manage to do all that I do, especially lately!! 😂
It’s absolutely incredible the difference from a few years ago to now!! I have so much more energy, I can handle so much more on my plate and I can get thru it all with a lot less stress and anxiety then I used to!! Every minute I spend working out and every time I chose to eat healthy is worth it bc of how great I feel bc of those choices!!!
The chicks got a new kitchen! 🤣 They were starting to squabble so it was time to make room. AND now that they are starting to flap we kept finding chicks INSIDE the food feeder! Hopefully this will also help to keep the bedding out of the water as well. It was getting dirty SO quick. I'd clean it in the morning and it would be gross again by afternoon. #chickenproblems #babychicks #homesteading #downtownfarm #urbanfarming
The greenhouse is coming along! Thanks in large part to our badass Help Exchange helper, Palynn @wingednwandering.
So far we’ve used all reclaimed materials (minus screws) so that’s feeling pretty good. Should hopefully be wrapping up this build this weekend. We’ve been working quickly this month to get all these outdoor projects finished before the rain. #diygreenhouse #reclaimedmaterials #tinyhouseportland #homesteading
Some more multi family we supplied the windows for in Park City Utah!
Before I had chickens I didn't realize these cute lil butt nuggets didn't have to be refrigerated when they're fresh from the coop!! Obviously I'm still in love with the cute decor they provide til they hit the pan!
Speaking of farmhouse decor, I just picked up a huge score of salvaged cedar (not pictured btw) to make egg holders. I'm sure I can't be the only backyard farmer that appreciates the beauty of her farm fresh bounty 😍 So recycled, wall-mounted & countertop egg holders are in the works peeps 🐣

A break mid-day for this easy and hearty soup; pastured Amish ham, homegrown peppers+pumpkin, wild leek greens, organic kale from @greenwagonfarm
, all in a base of duck bone broth from our home-raised ducks, some leftover tomato soup, and raw Amish cream. It was a mash up of a bunch of things we had in the fridge + was kind of a risky combo of possibly not being that great, but it came out rich, salty, filling, and absolutely delicious. .

When I arrived to my studio this morning the young @yardfoodtess
rooster was giving his crow a heartfelt try, sending the hens into a frenzy, feathers flying everywhere.
Hand fabricated feather, in process slowly as my students find their groove.
My garden says, “I’m not quit done yet.” ❤️
I was photo bombed by our barn cat,”Micki” who was looking for attention as I tried to shoot this picture instead of petting him.
I bottled up the Goldenrod I harvest earlier this week. One is soaking in olive oil so I can make a soothing muscle salve. While the other is soaking in Tito’s 80 proof vodka to make a tincture to help with allergies and rhinitis. This is my first attempt at Goldenrod wildcrafting so I am excited to see the results.
Be warned, if you are harvesting Goldenrod the yellow crab spider dwells there and despite a good shake and a spray with water I still ended up with a few of these crawling on my counters.
Have you made any Goldenrod products? I would love to hear about it.
Peanuts ✔️ Thai peppers ✔️ Tabasco peppers ✔️ bee food ✔️ just another morning on the farm.

create memories and your life will expand💓
We went apple 🍎picking today!! It just reminded me that in those moments where I’m feeling lost, like the wheel is just spinning or I’m too busy, that life is about being passionate about who you want to be. Make more of those moments and give your heart to what you desire, and you will already live that life😍
I am who I am because I made the choice to change my situation, and mindset about things. It’s possible to do anything!
Growing the model from the plan. Planning our home desiga great way to connect with our visions, and understandings. When utilizing geometry, we find their are natural rhythms to our spaces.
In today's world I find it troublesome that most people (I was one of them 15 years ago) have to be "desensitized" to knowing first hand where their meat comes from. For most people meat comes from a store... in a little styrafoam package, wrapped in plastic. And the thought of actually taking the life of an animal is just gross to them, yet they happily eat that chicken or that burger not knowing how the animal was raised or processed.
I want my kids to grow up really knowing where their food comes from because it is better. It's better than ignorance and less than nutritious food. It's better for the animal too. To live a good life and be appreciated for what it gives.
I am thankful and blessed... and this is some of the best duck you'll ever eat!

Fern enjoys running into the brush on her way from the barn to the pasture —making me climb through and chase her around while she stops to munch on leaves 🐐🍂🍃
3 pm tea time with Ms Darcy. Like the Brits, this Hungarian was raised on the hot stuff. Don’t care if it’s in the high 80’s and humid, it’s officially Fall in two days.🍂🍁
