Hi everyone 🙂
I want to share some new friends. Meet this cutie named Picasso and Wacku and in memory of his brother Pablo ❤ Picasso was born with a very noticeable facial abnormality. His upper jaw twists sharply to the right, making his nose point off to the side as well. Because of the misalignment of his jaw, some of his teeth are gouging into the roof of his mouth, and it takes him a little more effort to eat than most dogs. Otherwise, though, he's completely healthy 😊
I saw this dog’s photo at the Porterville animal shelter and knew he had to come to Luvable…!!!! Then I found out he was on the euthanasia list. Then I found out he had a “normal looking” brother who was also on the euthanasia list. Both dogs had been surrendered to the shelter by their breeder/owner. I couldn’t imagine taking one boy and not the other. So we got them both out and safe and brought them to Luvable Dog Rescue in Oregon! We named them Picasso and Pablo, and Picasso’s amazing face has received a lot of attention!!! Sadly, we lost his brother, Pablo in October 2017 when he died suddenly of an unpreventable brain aneurysm. Picasso is courageous and resilient and is continuing on with his training to become a therapy dog and assist Luvable Dog Rescue in its humane education program.
And meet also Wacku. This cutie has also a story. Wacku is missing his upper mandible- it was hacked off by a drunk angry man with a machete in the Philippines. Now I'm very happy because I have my own family. Picasso, Mom and other dog friends in the same home.
