Not every workout needs to be lung busting, sweatdripping, shaking from exhaustion. Your body also needs to stretch, lengthen those tight muscles and recover!
So often recovery days are pushed to the side, you either workout hard or do nothing. I am very guilty of doing this.
But having a day of stretching and releasing those muscles, working on flexibility and allowing your body to recover will actually allow you to then push harder at your next workout therefore getting you closer to those goals.
Your body needs time to heal and recover especially when you are pushing it hard.
Everyone is different how often you need these days, listen to your body and know when its time to recover and allow your body to be it's best possible self.
Do you need help learning how to listen to your body?
Why not join me in an online bootcamp and I can help you to learn how to listen to your body and how to reach it's full potential and be your healthiest, happiest self in a sustainable lifestyle.
I have struggled for a long time with a love hate relationship with these thunder thighs.
Years of skating, riding horses, biking and serious weight lifting, they have always been big, but strong and defined and I loved them for that.
Then kids came along I no longer spent hrs every day skating or the summers on horseback and biking. I still had big thighs but they were no longer defined and muscular just big. I would look down at them in disgust.
Now I am finally falling in love with these thunder thighs again. Seeing some definition back but mostly gaining a new mindset.
These thighs allow me to squat down to pick up my kids and throw them in the air giggling. They give me the ability to bike with my kids in tow. The ability to hike with a toddler on my back and still able to carry the other when he gets tired. Without these thick muscular thighs I would struggle to give my boys all these experiences and memories.
I will take thunder thighs anyday realizing all that they allow me to be able to do and all the smiles they help me create on my children's faces.
Embrace your body for all that it can do for you and your family. Look for the good instead of the negative and all of a sudden you will be seeing a lot more to be thankful for.
Was due for a food post 🤗
