Pretty excited to have taken my first steps without crutches this week, and without a boot in the same day... Video of the hobble attached ➡️ Looks like I’ll be hobbling into my first physio session today

Yoooo I’m kinda walking (PRETTY RAD). Meet with a surgeon about my knee this week (LESS RAD). I’ll be teaching yoga again this week (SUPER RAD). Check my schedule (link in bio). See you on your mat 💛✌🏼
This is Buttercup. Buttercup is the sole survivor out of the four ducklings we had hoped would hatch from the eggs we incubated after Honeycup was dragged off her nest and killed by a fox just over three week's ago. Buttercup hatched on Thursday (07.03.19). Three day's prior, two of the duck eggs started to go dark in colour, and after researching I thought they had most likely died, so I decided to break a tiny bit of shell away at a time to see if I could see any signs of life (couldn't see movement when candling). Both had perfectly formed deceased ducklings within, so we buried them with their mama... Two day's later we noticed another had started to go dark, and the next morning we did the same thing and found another, even more perfectly formed, deceased duckling who we buried alongside mama and its two siblings. I was determined not to lose the last duckling, I could hear it chirping inside the shell and knew it was perfectly formed, so I chipped away a hole about the size of a ten cent coin. Throughout the day Buttercup worked really hard to make it out of the shell, and when she did she had a splayed leg, and curled up foot (same leg). So after some more research I made a "shoe" out of a guitar pick, and a hobble from a paper straw and rubber band. After 24hrs she has gone from being unable to walk, to walking without the hobble! I'll leave the hobble on for a few more days to help her get even stronger, but I am confident that it will be a long term fix! Here she is walking with the hobble...isn't she just the cutest little thing you've ever seen?!!!

✨You Win Some, You Love Some✨
I hope you’ll stick with me for this story, because it took me a hot minute to gain some perspective...but I did.
First off: worst race...ever. For me, personally. Not worst organized. Not most poorly attended. Worst race that I have raced resulting in injury followed by injury.
Secondly: Bruised ego. The thing that I have tried so hard to let go of. To not think of myself first...#pityparty up in here.
Perspective: #peytonswackyultra is held because a parent lost their child and this is their way of honoring his memory.
I had the pleasure of supporting a family that has endured the worst pain imaginable and helped them keep the memory of their son alive.
Sprained ankle...I’ll take it.
Great time with great friends...I’ll take it.
Things can ALWAYS be worse and checking my self pity at the door for the greater good - made my day. 😘✌🏻
Stayput enclosure #hoodeddress with #hobble option. There's a zip at the back, from upper thigh to hem that makes this as restrictive as you like. Further, very well hidden zips, enclose your arms to give this full envelopment. There's choices of hood from this, fully open, to zip or button close or even one with just a narrow slot that zips shut.

Out with the old, in with the new! Good news, nothing broken or fractured. Bad news, still have to wear the boot for the next few weeks due to a deep bone bruise. At least the boot is so much more comfortable and allows for a more natural walking gait. Thanks for the recommendation @amber_cherise_art#lightduty#bonebruise#boot#walkywalk#hobble
