Mountains have been getting hit hard with snow this week... gotta love it! ❄️
today was not such a fun day. but yesterday we had a whole mini mountain to ourselves.
It’s always raining.. always. So we bundle up and go out anyway.
I know it seems like it’s been all about Ranger the last few days. Since he was down with kennel cough for the last couple of weeks, his manners have completely gone out the window 🙄 His recall was crap, he whined at anything that moved, and was being a turd in general. So I’ve been taking him out on his own to focus on his training and it’s been paying off. Tomorrow will be Jet’s day 🤩
Slate is a 💩 eating goblin and because of that he’s lowest on the totem pole but loved just as dearly. 💜
I used to pose for photos...
These are the little brown speckled paws I fell in love when I first saw Tybee. Seriously. When I first saw her, I just LOVED that she had brown spots only on the bottom half of her while the rest of her spots were black. (I don’t encourage anyone to choose a dog just because of their coloring or appearance. I considered other things too!) What did you first notice about your dog?

Living in a snow globe ❄️☃️ ... jk it's 50degrees and the snow has all melted 😂 good ol Cincinnati. I prefer my snowy Rocket over gloom and rain though.
Winnies version of a cat walk 🤣🤣🤣
Guys... THERE’S SQUIRRELS UP THERE! 😲🐿
Ps. Zoom in to see my silly grin 😂
Feeling lucky today to live in a place where I can go snowshoeing in the morning and be done in time for my 10 AM class. Nothing better than starting off the day with a bit of fun in the snow!
“Hurry up slowpoke!” -Ranger, if dogs could talk.
For such a wild child he’s actually pretty good at checking in and not wandering too far. I will happily take credit for that, since I’ve spent a lot of time “teaching” him the appropriate way to hike. Uhh, what does that even mean right? Ranger is a dog that requires a lot of structure in his life. Around the house this means waiting to eat, sitting by the door until I tell him it’s okay to go out, no getting on the bed or couch, no begging, etc. It’s more or less the same when we hike. When I open the car door at the trailhead, he waits for my okay. He doesn’t wander too far ahead of me, and if he does wander he returns when I call him. On rare occasion we meet fellow hikers or mountain bikers. Ranger is never allowed to run up ahead and greet them (hello, disaster waiting to happen). He stops, looks at them looks at me, and comes when called so I can place him off the trail to allow them to pass. Usually on our hike back, he walks behind me. Mostly because when we start out I have a fair idea that there isn’t anyone else on the trail due to the lack of cars at the trailhead. On the way back, who knows. So he hikes behind me and generally doesn’t pass me unless I say okay. These are our basic rules of hiking (Jet follows them too, although he stays much closer). They have helped us have much more pleasant and stress-free hikes.
Seriously Bro? Throw another one...I dare you😒
Wander often, wonder always.
Today’s a rainy day, so we’ll be sightseeing from the car. But they’re expecting snow tomorrow! ❄️🤞🏼
