Dogs are the best exercise buddies!
Whenever I don’t feel like working out, Duke barks in my face until we leave the house. Works every time!
In fact, the Journal of Physical Activity and Health found that dog owners are more likely to meet their fitness goals than those without dogs. Dog owners also walk 22 minutes more per day, which adds up pretty quick!

October 13/ Day 135/ 15 Miles
My last night and morning on the trail were so similar to most, yet so different from. My last night on the trail brought the hardest rain I experienced on the entirety of the trail. I woke up to mist and even heard a landslide on the other side of the mountain. In the end, however I slept, woke up, and got walking like any other day

You often hear when finishing a long hike or simply an accomplishment something along the lines of “no one can take that away from you.” Truer still is that I cannot take it away from myself. I have plans and dreams that I chase, but the PCT will always be my first thru-hike.
