hiking thru a smuggler’s cove! places like this have surely been changed over the years by hurricanes/other natural systems, but the atmosphere of what happened here remains. eery and awesome. you hear about pirates in the caribbean, but it’s another thing to walk thru these dried up bays, caves and ruins, hidden in the mangroves; you can close your eyes and almost hear the place alive w ships and ppl, stowing and uncovering contraband and treasure. or if you’re me, you imagine johnny depp w dreads and 15(??) or so movies of that 🤷🏽♀️

The smell of earth filled my nostrils and my ears and my taste buds alike. My kitchen transformed into a forest, and my mind relaxed. With my eyes shut and my breathe slow, I let any worry, stress, fear, and heaviness drip off of me and simply disintegrate into the air and it felt like actual weight that could be seen on a scale was lifted. I rolled my shoulders and my neck in no specific arrangement other than what felt right and good. I rolled my wrists and ankles, and I began to visualize what I wanted out of my body, and then my day, and then my life. I realized that stress we carry from school, a project, work, family, health, life, can be painted onto a canvas in a different light at anytime that we wish. Those things will be there, but the way we handle them, solve them, focus our energy on them, can be altered. Our mind is a muscle that needs to be worked, trained, and held sweetly but fiercely. Your immediate response to a situation may be stress, but then we learn to take a step back. Become aware of that feeling and let it be. It’s okay, as humans emotions rise like waves and can crash hard when we aren’t prepared. Look at that feeling like it’s not taking over but rather just existing for a moment like a bubble we can pop. This problem will be here and all it needs is a solution. I can solve it with stress, or without. I can be worried, or determined. I can be proactive, or reactive. I will approach my obstacles as stepping stones and my set backs as wisdom. I choose to allow only good energy to emit off of me and into the world today. This day, I will be known as strong, committed, and happy. I will work within myself so I can welcome all that the universe has to offer. I will dance symbiotically with nature for both of our benefits and I will be kind to myself and others during this process. _____..._____•_____..._____
