Life can be tough, and we all have those moments where it feels like we took 1 step forward then 2 steps back. Those moments are normal, it's called life.
It's not what happens to you in life, but how you react to it that determines whether you continue moving forward or you take those 2 steps back.
After a very difficult year, last year I became very depressed, isolated myself, and began emotionally eating, and drinking 1-2 glasses of wine every night.
Before I realized it, I had put on 20 pounds, felt even more depressed, and didn't know how to get out of the quicksand I had put myself in.
Then one day I had had enough, I closed my eyes and prayed, and asked God to help me get through this challenging time, to help me see the value in myself again, and to help me stop procrastinating and start taking care of myself again. .
I felt like a hypocrite, advising my clients to live a healthy life while I was drowning.
🔥I'm so excited to share that as of today, I have lost 16 pounds in 1 - 1/2 months, since January 1st!
By changing my portion size, starting my mornings with with a liquid meal of either a juice or smoothie, and rededicating myself back to a Vegan Plant-based lifestyle, I am the healthiest I've been in years!🔥
I give all the glory to God for the change that came from the inside and flowed out! Thank you Jesus!🙌
I still have some health issues to deal with, but I'm on the right track!
I encourage all of you to dig down deep and live your best life!😘

6 weeks, 6 workouts a week, 20 minutes a day (and those 60 minute on Friday)= 760 minutes of hard work, sweat, and perseverance. Completed
Over the past 6 weeks I fell in love with this little step. I pushed myself harder than I thought possible. I became so much more confident in my athletic ability, in my appearance and abolished the self doubt in what my body and mind can do.
If it weren’t for my accountability group postings every morning, I definitely would have skipped days. I can’t describe the love I have for my fit fam who pushes me to show up every day.
So thanks fam, you know who you are 🥰

I hope everyone is having a Booty-full Saturday! Here’s a little Booty and Legs accessory work filmed last Sunday! Inner thighs are still sore from Thursday’s workout 😭 how can they be getting worse?! Today’s FTF Bootcamp workout definitely didn’t make my Booty and Legs any less sore either!

We finally made it to NEW MEXICO!!! It feels so unreal that tomorrow I will be modeling at the White Sands! 😍😍
Naturally when we got to our Airbnb I had to get in a little “home workout”! I did these three exercises in a circuit for a to feel a quick burn before GOING IN on some vegan enchiladas and rice!!
Each exercise for 45 sec (no rest) with 30 sec rest between each round for 4 rounds!!!

Worked the glutes and core with #drsarasolomon
! Then our quick 20 minute dog walk, shoveled some snow, started a load of towels which are going to stay in the washer 😆. Helped a friend sort through some stuff. Made waffles for dinner. My daughter made brownies and insisted on having the corner piece. We tried this pasta couscous last night, 1 kid was ok, the other didn't like the way it felt as she was swallowing it. Not a total fail but to get creative and use up the last of it.

The road to improve ourselves is a bumpy one with a lot of opportunities to quit. My Capoeira martial arts training has only gotten harder physically and emotionally over the years. I’ve questioned quitting many times.
A big part of what keeps me coming back is that when the training, hard work, sweat, and the dedicated men and women in our Capoeira group are present in my life, I am a more accountable, driven and hungry human. There’s something special about seeing your craft evolve by paying your dues... or sad when it fades away from lack of dedication.
This flow was one of many from a long training session, a private session, with my Capoeira instructor @felipewerdum.
I was recently awarded my “graduado” or graduate Blue Cord which is similar to a black belt. Although I’ve reached that level, most of this training session was him telling me my technique... on almost every move... was incorrect. Not fun being told that for an hour and not fun dealing with the emotional frustration that was coming up for me.
