National Lampoon Magazine brought European comics to America with #heavymetalmagazine and released some of the coolest, most inventive stories and art ever. Not to mention a totally rockin’ animated film #metalhurlant#comics
As I stated a few days ago, I am a design nerd. Here is an example of one of my favorite typefaces, Kabel Black. It has been used in quite a few places: As the typeface for MTV's music video credit tags (shown at the start and finish of each video) from 1981-2006, on NBC Sports' on-screen graphics from 1985 to 1989, as the typeface in the logo for supermarket chain Piggly Wiggly (in lower case), as the typeface in the logo for Heavy Metal magazine since its first issue in 1977 (in uppercase), to name a few places. It is also used as the typeface as the logo my Your Lie in April alternate story, His Lie in Aprll (which you can see in one of my posts). The typeface was designed by German designer Rudolf Koch in 1927. Quite a cool typeface, don't you think?
