“Not Enough Heat? 🔥“ -
-This Aloha Friday morning sun rise just got whole lot of better. While waking up this morning and walking past my window of my room this reddish / orange type colored sunset glare beams through my window and to my eye, which caught my attention as I glared at the sunset for a whole 30 minutes. What a experience on this Aloha Friday.
When waves are just as wild as the sunset 💥 🌊
I spent the last weekend in the Big Island. I flew in Friday afternoon and went straight to Mauna Kea. I gave myself about 30 minutes to acclimate to the altitude at the visitor center which is at 9000 ft. Then I booked it to the top for sunset. The top of Mauna Kea is just under 14000 ft. Apparently those 30 minutes of acclimation were not enough. After being at the top for about an hour I stated to feel pretty sick, and within 2 hours I had full blown altitude sickness. It was such a miserable feeling that I couldn't stay up too and shoot the milky way all night like I had planned. That was when the main goal of the trip. Next time I'll give myself much more time at the visitor center. Lesson learned the hard way.
However, I did get this cinder cone shot just after sunset with pastel colors in the sky. It wasn't the shot I had planned to get, but it's my favorite from that day.
The aftermath of a sunset in Hawai’i
These trails & hikes just feels like a whole new experience every time!
There could be worst ways to wake up😅🙏
Sound of crashing waves against rocks and a insane sunrise or sunset is the perfect way to start the day or end the day everyday right here in Hawai’i.
Often times, I think to myself, Wow! I can’t believe this is home!
She who dares, wins ✨
I was watching The Matrix again the other night and was surprised at how many times Morpheus tells Neo a version of "I can only show you the door. You're the one who has to walk through it" and it struck me how PATIENT he is with his reluctant student.
We all have teachers in our lives - family, friends, coworkers, bosses, the list goes on - but it's the good ones who will show us time and time again where the door is. They're the ones who will dare us again and again to reach our potential. They're the ones who see what we can become and relentlessly nudge us in that direction. These are the people I seek out, and the person I strive to become to those around me.
So what will you dare to do? Is there a door you find yourself standing in front of, reluctant to walk through? Now's your moment: take the dare, make the leap.
Still tripping from the energy and direction of the #HurricaneWalaka
swell yesterday. Felt good to get the heart pumping and lungs burning again. #WinterIsComing
Anyone crave 🍧 Shave Ice, while watching this sunset today . 🤔 I know, I do.
Hydrangeas- They have quickly become one of my favorite flowers. They actually happily grow here at the higher/cooler elevations in the clouds. Maybe its the colors I like, or the fact that they clump in nice organized bunches. I took this photo two years ago. Not sure why I never posted it...
