Finished!! Today was certainly not easy. Ten months out from having twins and I had to WORK to get even close to be ready for this race. There were hard parts of today, but it was also so much fun!
I was able to do things I hadn't before - the javelin throw! 🤯 And I was able to participate with my teammates, including my brother.
Tough things can be accomplished. You just have to figure out what it is you want to do and plan accordingly 😊
This weather today is giving me all the fall feels. Time for my favorite flour-less pumpkin muffins!

Squad lost one to Iowa City this weekend, but we’re not letting that ruin our Saturday night!

Been sort of a weird week, been a little inconsistent with the gym. Had Friday off because my school got a new president so we had the inauguration. So I treated Thursday like a Friday and did no work and Friday like a Sunday and did a lot of work. But because of the weirdness I skipped the gym. But sometimes our body needs to recover but mentally and physically. Will try and get back on track this week though!
Date night= my favorite night. We’ve been trying to make date night more of a consistent priority for us. Tonight was a special edition because I surprised Luke and planned it for him! I’m curious- how often do you do date night with your SO?!
Saturday and Sundays are my 12 hour shift days— they’re also the day when working out is a struggle bus, because I’ve already been running around for 12-13 hours 🤷🏼♀️•
To compromise with myself I decided to make those days run days. Do what’s best for you & your lifestyle 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I just got home yesterday.
I was/am exhausted.
It’s the first day of fall.
I have laundry to do.
And wouldn’t you know it...it’s that time of month (I know...TMI)...but I’m not normal and I go through hell for a few days... So believe me when I say that working out...getting off the couch (getting out of bed) today....I was so close to not doing a thing.
I think it would have been legitimate not to.
I am overwhelmed with a great MANY things at the moment.
But the more we let things get in our way...the more we will look back and wonder where we could have been if we were willing to push through.
So here to another day of progress, of pushing, of making sure I’m at my best (even when I’m not)....and it was only 40 min.

It’s Saturday and I’m feeling great about it 😍
After two crazy long days at school, I was excited to do my hair, put some makeup on, and head home to NH for a Thomas Rhett concert ☺️
For the first time since Wednesday I got my sweat on this morning, drank my shake and am feeling more like myself! How good it feels to be in steady routine and not at school until 9 pm 🙃 Happy Saturday boss babes!
The first day of Fall was perfect for getting a run in. I’m just hoping the 90 temps are gone for good. Who else is excited for some fall weather? 🙋♀️🙋♀️ .
Last spring I posted on our team page that I was thinking about doing a half marathon and wondered if anyone else wanted to this race.
There were a lot of times over the course of training where I didn’t really feel like doing it anymore.
When I found out Josh would be away for the weekend, the only thing that kept me going was knowing that I’d have other people there to greet me at the finish line.
Sometimes this coach thing is about exercise, sometimes it’s about an extra income...
ALWAYS it’s about having a group of supportive women who are willing to brave the first morning of fall weather to cheer each other on for 3.1, 6.2, and 13.1 miles 💕
Hoping my liquid gold curbs my sugar-withdrawal headache while Josh makes some shakeo cookies that I also hope will curb my sugar addiction in a healthy way

WE DID IT! 🎉 Today my mom + I both completed a Dri Tri consisting of a 2,000 meter row, 300 body weight exercises, + finally, a 5k💪🏼💦
We both pushed ourselves to our limits + really saw what our minds + bodies are capable of. We BOTH beat our 5K goal times by 30 seconds + We BOTH ran faster than we’ve ever run 🙌🏼 That in itself was a huge victory
On top of that #win
, I finished the 3.1 miles in 22:31 + finished the entire thing in 41:08 🧡
As of this morning, I was the top female finisher at this location...we’ll see if I can hold the spot as the other Dri Tri heats finish up 🤗

I would not have been in the physical + mental shape that I currently am in, nor would I have finished feeling as strong as I did. I’m accomplishing things I never thought were possible thanks to some incredible programs, coaches, + meal plans that have me in the best shape of my life 💙

Weekends are my favorite. Eggs, pineapple, and spaghetti squash. 🙌🏻 Before really understanding nutrition, I would have never eaten spaghetti squash for breakfast because 1) I’d never even had it before and 2) It’s not a “breakfast food”. Working on my health has made me get out of my comfort zone and also realize it doesn’t matter what I’ve learned in the past about what “should” be eaten for a meal. If I enjoy it and it’s in my nutrition plan — it can be eaten whenever!

I think I’m the only one on this platform that does not look forward to fall, whoops🙋♀️Tonight is the autumnal equinox and I’m feeling it’s vibes big time. Summer to me is bursting with life, buzzing with excitement. The endless sunshine warms me on a soul level, the freckles on my skin come out, and I feel so ridiculously in tune with my body and mind. I thrive BIG time on the light, the energy from the sun, swimming in any body of water, and the foods that summer offers. Summer makes me feel like a freakin goddess. When the sun starts waning, and the gardens die back, and the layers start going on, I feel a sense of panic almost. I feel suppressed, a little claustrophobic when the windows have to be shut, and I immediately start wishing for spring again.
So if there’s anyone out there like me, I feel you.
Seasonal changes can be hard, but I can assure you there are ways to create balance, ground your mind and body, and find your self, even if it feel out of sorts. I realize that I am an extremely on the go person, and without the slow pace of fall and winter, I’d probably hit a major breaking point. I wake up earlier, to spend as much time in the sun as I can. I eat seasonal foods to help create warmth in my body. I stay social to help from feeling isolated. And this year, I’m actively working on simply being more accepting, rather than trying to control something that is so ridiculously out of my control. Life is a collection of seasons, and each season plays a role in the big picture, and change is necessary for growth✨🍂

The chilly morning ended up being perfect running weather and I left long sleeves on until mile 10.
So excited to finally cross this off my list after years of saying I wanted to do one... even more excited about running faster than I anticipated! (2:09:48)
First official day of Fall and it’s only 60 degrees out. Yes please! Tried out a health(ier) PSL today and can’t wait to share how it saved 210 calories and 30 grams of sugar from a typical grande PSL. Slept in. Had coffee and banana bread on the porch. Read. Hit the farmers market. Then went to the basement to hit some leg work before lunch!
Honestly, if my gym wasn't at my house I wouldn't workout on the weekends 😂 but I have no excuses! I took my rest day already this week and knew I would regret not doing some weighted glute work!

For the last 10 years we’ve paid someone to clean for us. We recently decided to cancel our cleaning service.
