Impromptu activity this Saturday morning: making chocolate monster treats thanks to @finetiph
Luke loooves any activity that has to do with food. After all, he did say he wanted to be a chef! Hehe. So this was a great activity to do with him!
Initially, I thought the kit required us to bake so I was intimidated (haha zero cooking/baking skills here) but sooo happy and relieved to know they were actually super easy to make!! It’s mostly decorating the cookies, which I can definitely do. Haha yaaay!
Such a good idea for an easy activity to do with your kids; just grab some breadsticks, round cookies, oreos, m&m’s, marshmallows and Fineti chocolate spread and you can easily make all these too!! Enjoy!
Happy Halloween! 🎃 [ s w i p e ]
Here is a spooky sensory activity for descriptive writing that you can try...
• In each mystery bag, I put food items that could feel like a gross Halloween body part. Example: Vampire Teeth, Brains, etc. .
💀• The students are to feel what’s inside each bag and make a prediction as to what they think it is based on the “menu” provided for them. .
💀 • Finally, using their vocabulary chart as a guide, they are to describe in detail to me what the items in the bag, feel like in their hands. The orange sheet is for any words they would like to add.
💀 • Lastly, you can end the activity here and keep it as an oral language focus (especially for second language learners), or you can add an extension by having students write about their experience using the same descriptive vocabulary words. .
💀 • My students thought this was hilarious and squealed with “disgust” the entire time 😂 They ended up adding quite a few vocabulary words and got into some good conversation! .
• This activity was adapted from Emilie Lalonde .

Oh darn! I meant to post this a while ago....😭😱 a week or so ago I made Banana Ghosts🍌👻 with the boys and shared the activity on my YouTube channel! It was super simple and fun and my boys LOVED it! *
I know Halloween has passed now, but if your kids are in the mood for one more Halloween activity, this is a great one! 😍😂
I'll share the link in my bio! 🎃 Happy Halloween! 👻
The kids made guided drawings using a set of questions about photosynthesis and respiration as a guide for what to add 👻🎃 #halloweenactivity
I didn’t think I would be able to take them trick or treating so I planned a #Halloween
activity for him the night before. Its sort of scavenger hunt/digging game. All I used were gloves, water, food coloring, Halloween little toys, imagination and a dash of my childishness 😁. He was having so much fun getting a toy at a time, he was so excited to share it with me and described them as he gets them out. If you really think about, their needs are simple; full attention from parents, to play with and converse with on top of basic needs. I aim to spend as much time as I can with them especially right now that they are young. #iamsuchamom #momlife #workingmom #mommycontreras #halloweenactivity #halloween2018 #thankstopintrest
Greatest Halloween evening —> Went to an Edgar Allan Poe performance by the Summoners Ensemble Theatre at the Merchant House in the East Village. The location is the only fully preserved nineteenth century family house in New York. It’s got everything, furniture and all. The old-timey cozy spookiness of the place made for the ideal setting. The one-man performance included *The Tell-Tale Heart*, *The Cask of Amontillado^, and *The Raven*, all in character and pitch-perfect. #nyc #halloween #edgarallanpoe @merchantshouse

A little smidge of Halloween on our Finger Gym this week! I tried this activity myself and with the length of my nails it was pretty hard 😂 💅🏻 I punched holes in the pictures and popped some string on the table so the children could practise threading. 𝙈𝙧𝙨𝘽. 🐝
this the season to be spooky 👻🎃 Happy Halloween!
All the pincher grip building, oh-so-careful concentration, and candy corn snacking.
🎃Happy Halloween 👻
