Macros, intermittent fasting, carb cycling, keto, paleo, etc... There’s so many lifestyles out there in regards to eating, but you have to figure out what works best for you. Just because your idol is successful at one thing doesn’t mean you will be. You have to experiment until you can make something a lifestyle. We don’t do diets... because those don’t work. 🍠🍗🥚🍕🥗🥑🍑🍌🍚🍪
I love macro counting but it doesn’t work for everybody. If you have an obsessive personality or don’t have the healthiest relationship with food, counting macros may do more damage than good. Carb cycling; some people swear by it, but it’s one lifestyle that doesn’t work for ME. Any low carb day is the worst day of my life: I’m irritable and cranky, I have no energy, I can’t think, and that’s not going to help me be successful in the long run. Doesn’t mean it’s wrong, my body just doesn’t do well. Haven’t tried intermittent fasting because I like to eat but I know a lot of people who have had success and feel great!
What’s the point of this post? To remind you to do what’s best for you, your lifestyle, and your happiness. ☀️ Just because someone lives by one way, that doesn’t mean everything else is wrong. So try different things, ask questions, and discover what works for you!! 🙌🏽

This transformation makes me super emotional. There is about a year’s difference between these two pics. The picture on the left was the summer after my freshman year, when I was recovering from a relapse and had to abandon my plans for an internship in Toronto to stay home, try to recover again, and get therapy. I really thought I was getting better, then. The right was from a couple weeks ago, when I decided to stop my exercise addiction of running and hours of cardio and obsessively counting steps in favor of strength training. I took this picture because I was really proud of my booty gains even in merely a couple of weeks. I was, and am, making an effort to eat more, love myself, listen to my body after almost four years of a miserable life in the midst of anorexia and exercise addiction. This summer I got out of my comfort zone, traveling across the country for an internship, going on spontaneous trips, eating unplanned meals, but spending time with people and feeling free. I’m admittedly still a huge work in progress, but as I’m on the plane right now going back home, I scrolled through my camera roll and was shocked to see the contrast in merely a year. I was so hopeless last year and thought I’d be in this vicious cycle of starvation for the rest of my life, but this picture gives me hope. Normally I’m unable to notice how much progress I’m making because I’m the one in the middle of it, but I’m so thankful for these little reminders that I’m making strides towards a better life 💫💕
Today is actually going by pretty quickly, which is good because I’m going home this week and I want to leave DC already 😅 I’m kind of anxious because since this week is my last week here during my internship, I’m eating out more than usual or breaking up my normal routine, which is less “healthy” than I want it to be. But then I remind myself: it’s only a few days. Do I eat like this every other day? No. Will my body change significantly? No. Should I restrict to “balance out” what I’ll be eating? Uh, heck no. If anyone has been getting out of routine lately, just remind yourself that it’s not as big of a deal as you’re making it out to be, and that it will ALL be okay 💕

I had such a relaxing day today! All my roommates are out of town so I had my whole apartment to MYSELF 🤗 I slept in until 10 which is pretty gnarly because I usually rarely sleep in that late anymore! But it’s always my priority to give my body rest, especially because my week of #workout
left me pretty exhausted, to be completely honest. It was to the point where my legs felt like jello and were telling me to stop moving 🏃🏻♀️ I love spending time with myself, and it is extra nice getting even my whole apartment just for me! I went to go see Ocean’s 8, which was the first time I saw a movie in the theaters alone, and it was actually super nice! I also visited a food market after and then went to #traderjoes
and now am back home eating this delicious bowl!

i was really skeptical before trying this because i couldn’t envision tasting #maplewaffle
form... but turns out it’s ABSOLUTELY AMAZING 🍁😍 the ooey gooey maple syrup globs are mixed in with chunks of “waffle” pieces in a beautiful maple base. i baked it in the oven and it was warm, the syrup chunks were melting, and it was absolutely perfect. this is probably a contender for one of my most favorite quest bars of all time!
despite what other reviewers say, go in with an open mind in trying this product because, who knows, your mind could be blown just as much as mine was!
