Here’s another delicious serving suggestion for your festive gatherings: Our German Potato, Egg & Bacon salad dressed up with baby peas, dill pickles, celery, capers and fresh dill. Trust us, you need to try this one - you won’t regret it! 🎄
I grow us much as I can in my tiny backyard garden and I do have a lot of the basics covered - I rarely have to buy any herbs, (except my coriander keeps bolting at the moment), or salad greens, and right now I have plenty of zucchinis, cucumbers.. and the tomatoes, eggplants and capsicum are almost ready to pick as well. Because I’m working with such a small space, I tend to avoid planting lots of vines or plants that take up a lot of realestate in my garden as well as plants that have to be in the ground for a long time and don’t yield a lot. So this means I do have to buy a bit of produce. I try to avoid the supermarket as much as possible but I always look forward to a fortnightly organic delivery which gives me a lot more options in the kitchen! Today was my delivery day from @homefreshorganics
, and the produce is beautiful and fresh. A couple of years ago we were living really remotely on a jungle island in Indonesia, and sourcing fresh food was challenging. I could only dream about organic food deliveries and now that it’s my current reality, I’m especially grateful. Grateful that I can grow my own food without monkeys stealing it, and that I can buy what I can’t grow and have it turn up at my door. 😌
I'm about to make cookies (which I'll post about soon) but found these two pictures from a previous grocery haul from forever ago it seems.
1. Lisanatti Foods, Original Almond Cheese isn't actually vegan, but is good for those transitioning to veganism. When I went from vegetarian to vegan I had quite a bit of trouble. I didn't realize how many animal products were in everything I ate and my calorie intake decreased significantly. I didn't notice I wasn't eating well until I had regular headaches, irritability, and difficulty in school. A close friend mentioned that in removing animal products from my diet, and not finding a replacement, meant that I also removed the long chain fatty acids that assist in normal brain function. The ingredient in this particular brand that makes it non-vegan is casein, which is a milk protein that contains long chain fatty acids. I ate this cheese, in particular the garlic herb style, regularly until I was able to figure out the whole vegan thing. Even though I was studying nutrition at the time, there was a lot I didn't know. Being vegan doesn't mean you need to totally deprive yourself, as I originally thought when I first started. It took some time to realize that veganism can be a bit flexible, especially if your health and well-being is at stake. If you're ever having trouble trying to figure things out please feel free to message me and we can figure it out together! 💕
sour cream is super thick but very good. I used it to make some garlic onion dip and it was amazing!
What does it take?
Consistent day to day behaviors to lead you to your goals.
Easy? No way in hell.
Worth it? You tell me⬇️
Is feeling confident in your own skin worth it?
Is not squeezing into your jeans worth it?
Is being HEALTHY worth it?
At what cost though...

Just picked up some essentials: eggs, butter, cream cheese, cheese dip, heavy whipping cream and corned beef. We still have a lot in the fridge but these are all things I’m about out of. Except eggs - I do have 18 in the fridge but I get worried when I run low on eggs (I think it’s a holdover from being a very poor single mom but also eggs are seriously the perfect food anyways and super versatile). But I did want to try these eggs to see if I like them as much as the more local eggs I get - if so these are more affordable so I’ll get them again. If not, I’ll use them in baked goods. I’m a little picky about eggs I guess 😊
If your not familiar with Mexican snacks this is takis preparados: taki chips, pickles, pickle juice, chilé, and squinkles 🤤
groceries. does anyone else cringe when the cashier slams your produce on the conveyor belt?!
When family is in town for the holidays we celebrate with all sorts of Mexican food 🤤
This is most of my usual grocery haul I do every week and a half minus vegetables and fruits. Sadly I forgot my egg whites too so I'll go back tomorrow.
When it comes to my diet I like to pull my protein from multiple sources like Chicken, lean ground turkey, shrimp, Salmon, vanilla greek yogurt and whey protein. Not a big red meat or ground beef guy so I tend to avoid it.
My carbs for meals tend to be white rice and pasta. I suggest the Barilla protein pasta with a 3.5 carb to 1 protein ratio. For breakfeast I eat oatmeal. For snacks I tend to lean toward pretzels.
Fats are actually one of the hardest macros for me to hit if I'm not tracking because I dont eat alot of foods containing large amounts of fat. So I have to add olive oil, cheese, and light butter to certain items.
Dont wait till the new year to start that diet when you can start it today! Thanks for reading the post I appreciate it have a great day.

What are some of your weekly stock up items?!
Happy Monday everyone! ✨
I’ve been trying to reduce my grocery spending and wanted to share my grocery list! I’m headed to Trader Joe’s for this list, but when I do a big restock for the apartment, I usually go to multiple places to shop for different things! A lot of the times that one bag of herbs is half the price in Chinatown 😉 ✨
This list is curated for this week and what I’m feeling, but I also have a separate list of things I always have in my pantry. I’ll share that with you guys soon! Stay tuned for tonight’s video if you want to come shopping with me for this list! Our budget for this is less than $40. Can we do it?
Grocery haul was mostly healthy today 😊
