Unbelievable views from the top of North Dome. Definitely worth the 9+ miles of hiking if you include the Indian Ridge which is the only natural arch in Yosemite. Thanks for snapping a 📷of us @treenabee #yosemitenationalpark #nps #nationalparks #findyourpark #goparks #takeahike #neverstopexploring #yosemite #halfdome #northdome #northdometrail #ontherogue
Explored Echo Lakes Ca this weekend with some of my best friends.
Do you ever consider who receives packages, records incoming property, maintains logs of utility energy costs, helps manage park housing, and processes work orders? Hundreds of 📦 must be sorted and labeled, in addition to maintenance requests assigned and followed through with. Seasonal housing arrangements can be a chaotic calendar of move ins and check outs. For every light turned on, thermostat kept running, and new inventory item added, there is a record kept. - One person takes care of all this at @cuyahogavalleynps , and it only encompasses some of her responsibilities as a #supply technician. Organization and time management are of the upmost importance with this kind of position, especially as it involves interdivisional support, data entry and analysis, and assurance that items get to where they need to be. #NPSportraits NPS/Kat Connelly
Highly recommend bundling up and watching sunrise from Cadillac Mountain.
Had to post something for #tetontuesday . Rarely does a shot that I pre visualize come to fruition, but this was a case when all the elements worked in my favor. I wanted the line of trees to illuminate and contrast against the background. On this day I wasn’t sure if I would happen. However, like many stories of great shots, I was about to give up when the clouds parted and let in the light precisely where I wanted it.
Keep plowing through it all. ••••• Thanks to NP Geek Ambassador Ron @ronhayworth for a sign of what’s to come. ——-- Yellowstone’s official snow shovel @yellowstonenps #nationalparkgeek #earthcapture #findyourpark #goparks #bison #itsamazingoutthere #natgeo #natgeoyourshot #wyoming #yellowstonenationalpark #yellowstonepledge #winterwonderland #picoftheday #photooftheday ——- #nationalparkgeek #npgeekambassador
Blue hour is one of the most underrated time of day. All other photographers seem to disappear and a very calming silence usually ensues. I always used to pack it in after the sun hit the horizon, but sticking around for an extra half hour or so almost always pays off.

I was surprised at just how dry Colorado was when I visited there this August. Some areas do have a lot of vegetation, but it's nothing like in the Eastern US. My favorite place that I visited though was Rocky Mountain National Park. The national parks seriously contain the most beautiful landscapes in the country! This photo was taken just before getting to Emerald Lake on the 3 lake trail in the park. It was a fun moderate hike there, with plenty of mountain views and scenery! * * * * * #RMNP #rockymountainnationalpark #rockymountains #colorado #coloradorockies #rockies #emeraldlake #emeraldlaketrail #hikingincolorado #hikingtherockies #gohiking #goexploring #goparks #usanationalparks #nationalparks #mountainviews #mountains #scenictrails #hikingtrails #coloradohikingtrails #femaletravelbloggers #gltlove
Stone steps leading into a deep, dark woods. What will you find along the trail? Something creepy? Something scary? Who knows? Halloween is just around the corner, Travelers. Where’s the scariest place you’ve been in a national park? One of the articles in the National Parks Travelers tells of ghostly sightings in Yellowstone National Park and lists some good, scary ghost stories for other national parks. If you feel like a few goosebumps this morning, go on over and check out the story at www.nationalparkstraveler.org. While you are there, leave a comment for the Traveler as to where you think the scariest location is in the National Park System and share any park ghost stories you might have heard. And have a boooootiful day out there, Travelers 🎃 #nationalparkstraveler #nationalpark #nationalparks #maine #acadia #acadianationalpark #forest #trail #landscape #landscapephotography #canon #canonusa #canonphotography #optoutside #goparks #findyourpark

One of our favorite historic park lodges, Yellowstone’s Old Faithful Inn, just closed for the season. A few weeks ago we were fortunate to catch a last minute cancellation there. It was one of the original rooms without a bathroom, and even though we had to trek down the hall to the public restroom to take care of business 🛀, we were grateful for the chance to stay in this extraordinary place again. A landscape like no other. I'm fortunate to have called Yellowstone my home for the last six months. Adventures around every corner, wildlife at your doorstep, a super volcano under your feet, I'm worried life might be a bit boring elsewhere. #homesweethome • • • • • #yellowstonenationalpark #nps #findyourpark #goparks #optoutside #stayandwander #thatswy #ynpforever #yellowstonepledge #wyoming #getoutside #protectpubliclands #explorenationalparks #eatyourpaisleytravels #visitwyoming #welivetoexplore #exploreoften #traveloften #keepexploring #lonelyplanet #neverstopexploring #exploremore #wanderlust #beautifuldestinations #travelislife #geyser #supervolcano #allthingsmustcometoanend
The two cubs of #grizzlybear399 eyeing up some juicy berries as they continue to gorge before hibernation. They look fat, healthy, and ready for the den. They just need to avoid all of the elk hunters that are crawling all over the place. The bears are drawn to the kills and gut piles left behind by hunters which can lead to them crossing paths with negative outcomes. . . . #myjhecotour #tetoncollective #wwawildlife #shootemwithacamera #wildlifeplanet #earthofficial #outdoorphotography #findyourpark #grandtetonnationalpark #goparks #grizzlybear #gtnp #bear #naturephotography
Hey Travelers, just a heads up that if you are planning a trip to Big Bend National Park and want to hike the popular Lost Mine Trail, you’ll have to make a change of plans as this trail is currently closed due to increased bear activity. Last weekend, I had the opportunity to give the opening speech at Patagonia’s Midterm Lot Party in Reno! 🤙 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I wish I could vote to support the National Parks and Monuments and to protect our environment. If you are old enough, please get out and vote because the Midterms Matter! 🌎
Some give all...Thank you, Paul. 💚💙

Oh goodness what nature will do for the soul 🌿✨ . Aaron took a hike the other day by himself, without a phone, or a time to be back, or food or anything. He basically walked out our front door and straight toward the mountains, until he was up in them. When I saw him later that evening he was glowing. He told me all about his experience that day and how the fresh air, solitude and sweat had cleansed him, and he took me out there the very next day. It was beautiful and magical and healing and gave me some much needed perspective. Sometimes we can influence our outer experience by finding the peace inside, and sometimes we find the peace outside first and it calls out the stillness within. Feeling so thankful for the beautiful creation that we get to live in and among. Receiving the gifts that nature has to give is a very potent part of our #pilgrimlife . How and what do you receive from nature? 🌿✨

Almost like he was posing for me. The wildlife in Denali was unlike anything I've seen before or since. We happened upon this guy on our way out of the park, he blocked the road for a while then decided to go and use the tree to scratch his back before heading off back into the wilderness. This quaint farmhouse in #RedwoodNationalPark is actually part of an #abandoned #WWII radar installation in disguise. "The Klamath River Radar Station B-71 in Redwood National Park, California, is a rare, surviving World War II early-warning radar station, the first step toward the more sophisticated and pioneering early-warning radar defense network. Rather than using camouflage materials, the buildings of Radar Station B-71 were constructed to resemble farm buildings to disguise their true purpose. The station consisted of three buildings: a power building disguised as a farmhouse, an operations building disguised as a barn and a functional wood frame two-stall privy or outhouse." "The radar station, in what is now Redwood National Park, was built in late 1942 and early 1943 as the northernmost California station in a network of 72 proposed stations, 65 of which were actually built, stretching from the Canadian border into Mexico." #NationalPark #iphone #discoveramerica #exploremore #natgeo #natgeotravel #usinterior #nationalgeographic #findyourpark #goparks #shotoniphone #shotoniphonex #nationalparks #nuschuwintervaca2018 #visitcalifornia #explorecalifornia #californiaadventure #worldwar2 #militaryhistory #ww2
