STRENGTH OF A WOMAN 💪🏻💫
This is kamlaben. I met her in d local train🚂 selling braclets to commuters.
She has lost most of her teeth and walks with the help of a stick that can barely carry its own weight. .
At this age, she should be at home, being taken care of.. when i asked, she said that she had lost her husband within the first month of marriage and had to live with her parents ever since.. She has been doing this for the past 60 years! 😱
At the age of 78, with no husband, no parents and nobody to take care of her, she works every single day to survive..
i went ahead and bought almost 15 bracelets from her... When i said "aachaa 15 black wale de do" she looked up at me, from behind her old glasses, her eyes filled with joy and a smile spread across her face... 🙂
She said that she had seen a lot of people showing her sympathy but nobody wanting to buy her wares..
When i tried bargaining, she said, "maane ghare laii jaa aane kaam karav pan paisa ochaa nai aapti" (take me home and make me work, but don’t pay me less) i could say no more... 😢
I actually wanted to take her home and give her the care she needed... She wiped a small tear at the end of her eye and got down...
A women with so much determination and patience towards life, i felt horrible about myself... 😥
We complain of things we don’t have, never stopping to see the things we do!
If you ever meet her, buy something from her.. It won't cost you much, but for her, it may be her meal money !!

“....shame, like mould, grows in the dark...but when you bring your life into the light, with the right people, you’ll not only find love, but you’ll find hope, help and fellowship”
- Holly Furtick // I believe that God gives good gifts, and one of the best gifts I’ve been blessed with is the gift of a great friend...the kind that gives you the permission to be real and free....the kind that is not afraid to be a shoulder and the kind that is ready to war darkness and shame with you.
I remember one season when I was low on cash, and being ‘broke’ meant no lunch. My super investigative friend, Uju, noticed it and said, ‘As long as you are not on a diet, you are going to eat today, how can my sister be hungry while I’m here?’
I pray I never forget moments like those.
Reflecting on my life, and I can confidently say that Jehovah God is the greatest friend anyone can ever have. He’s put me in the path of great great people. My days are beautiful because even when I intentionally (or unintentionally) find myself in a place of isolation, maybe due to a terrible season of pain or shame, God always find me there and draws me out of dark pits, with His wonderful earthly soldiers. With good friendships, I’m encouraged back to life. I’m corrected in love and I’m shown the path to life, light and laughter. Today, I’m grateful for the source of all great friendships- Jehovah God. I’m stronger because of my tribe...my community.
I’ve made amazing friends on social media too. Literally reconnected with old friends too, and I’m so so grateful for that. I thank God for you, my friend (online or offline...ha!)
Remember, you don’t have to bear the brunt of life’s crazy alone, God is there, Jesus and Holy Spirit are literally with you...so am I (ok, sometimes) and your friends. Always reach out to someone. Ps: In what ways has a good friend been a blessing in your life?
Have a beautiful yummy yummy day!
Reach out to someone today. Be their friend. Be the kind of friend you hope others will be to you. Be kind always.
Most people go out of their way to make sure they look good on the outside. They pay other people to make their hair look good, they pay for products to make their skin look nice, and they buy clothes that they think will flatter them. They are concerned about the external appearance that they show to the world and are careful to take care of how they present themselves.
At the same time, very few seem to spend anytime at all taking care of their character. They are only concerned with what they see in the mirror, not the things the mirror can't detect.
What a different world this would be if we had the ability to see into a person's soul and character, instead of simply seeing their looks, which have been carefully put together to impress you.
What if you had the power to see people's true spirit, instead of their external looks. How would you truly look in the mirror? How would your friends truly look?
By all means take care of your body and your appearance. But, do not neglect to work on perfecting your character. And when you look at other people, don't be deceived by their appearance, but rather look deeper and discern who and what they truly are, no matter what they look like on the outside.
Abdullah bin 'Amr mentioned Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying that he was neither a Fahish nor a Mutafahish. Abdullah bin 'Amr added, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, 'The best among you are those who have the best manners and character.'

What is good character? How can we do good things? The simplest way to answer these questions is to look at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a role model. He ﷺ is the perfect example of good character. Allah says about him in the Quran (what means):“You have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah.” [Quran 33:21]
Ya Allah beautify the state of our hearts and help us attain good character and increase our overall productivity.
Two years ago, I probably wouldn’t believe you if you would have told me that those long nights of editing, crying, editing some more, and sharing my story on pages would become books that will inspire so many lives. I took lessons that I taught as an educator to create my children’s book, and now I have been ask to teach teachers how to do exactly what I did. This time next week, I will teach administrators, educators, and future authors how to teach our students to dream. I am no expert, but I excel in the field of education. Thank you @umsl
for this amazing opportunity. When God gives you amazing gifts and talents, make sure you not only use them, but share them.

*Fasting on the day of Aashúra*
Mu'awiya bin Abu Sufyan *رضي الله عنه* narrates from the pulpit on the day of ‘Aashúra’ in the year which he performed Hajj, “O people of Madina, where are your learned men? I heard Rasúlullãh *ﷺ* say about this day:
“This is the day of ‘Aashúra’, and fasting on this day has not been prescribed for you _(i.e. made compulsory upon you)_. I am fasting on this day; whosoever amongst you wishes to fast on this day, he may do so, and whosoever amongst you does not wish to fast on this day, he does not have to.” *(Bukhari)*
*Two Days of fasting*
The Sahãbah *رضي الله عنهم* mentioned to Rasúlullãh *ﷺ*, the year before he left this world:
“O Messenger of Allãh, it (the day of ‘Aashúra) is a day which the Jews and Christians hold in high esteem.” .
Thereupon Rasúlullãh *ﷺ* said: “Next year we will fast on the 9th (as well) if Allah Ta‘ala wills.” But Rasúlullãh *ﷺ* passed away before the next ‘Aashúra.
*If a person intends to fast tomorrow (10th Muharram) then keep an additional fast with it. If a person has not fasted today but intends to fast tomorrow, then keep a fast on Friday also.*
