PSA: 1. You can eat Easter eggs and be healthy. - As long as you are looking after your body and mind on the whole. 2. You can eat Easter eggs and achieve your fitness goals. - As long as you are physically working to achieve them when you are not eating Easter eggs. 3. You can eat Easter eggs and lose weight. - As long as you are in a calorie deficit over the week or month, depending on your preferred rate of weight loss. — Occasions such as Easter, Christmas, Birthdays, come round once a year. You are supposed to indulge a little. They are about abundance, family, food, love; not restriction. Don’t beat yourself up mentally over wanting to treat yourself to something that may not necessarily be in alignment with your aesthetic goals. I can assure you that a little indulgence on these occasions is not what is keeping you from achieving your goals; it is what you are doing the rest of the year, and every moment in between not eating Easter eggs, that counts. (Note: I refer to eggs in plural as I don’t consider 1 egg worth discussing). Personally I’ve knocked back a couple eggs *per week* in the lead up to Easter, and above all, I’ve still manage to achieve points 1-3 above during this period 👍🏼. — So, I won’t tell you to ‘treat yourself’ this Easter. But I will tell you that as long as Easter eggs constitute the 20% part of your diet and not the 80%, you have nothing to worry about when it comes to achieving your fitness goals. If for now they do constitute 80% of your diet, well then you can still drop back into a calorie deficit or maintenance mode once you have made your way through the last supermarket supplies. No long-term harm done. Just eat your greens when you can 🥬. Nutrients are important too 😉. Happy Easter folks xxx
Yesterday I had an amazing work-out at the gym. What I loved most about it, is that it got my mind popping, a good work out always makes me feel as if I have fireworks going off in my head. . . . Squat day 3/3 88kg 2X3 70kg 3X5 It’s been a while since I’ve repped around the 90% mark and I honestly felt like it was really scary and heavy. But then watching my videos they looked pretty darn smooth! So much of lifting heavy is mental and unfortunately I’m my own worst enemy.
