Finished my glute workout on zee cable today and it was SUCH a great burnout 😩🙌🏼 You know I’m always honest on here.. and let me just tell you, after a full day of fulfilling orders, I was NOT feeling the gym today 😅😴. I’m not motivated every single day to workout. Sometimes when I’m feeling lazy, I wish I had my cats life of sleeping and eating all day 😂🤷🏼♀️ and hey, sometimes that’s what I choose to do! Because guess what? I’m HUMAN. No one is motivated every single day of their life, but I make decisions for myself when I know it will benefit me in the long run and sometimes that’s all it takes! I knew if I worked out today, it would relief some stress and my body would thank me later! So don’t think you’re the only one who has days where they don’t feel motivated because I promise you, I’m right there with ya! But that’s why we’re in this together 😇💕

So I'm back in Bristol for the weekend and couldn't resist a visit to @strengthlab_bristol
I started training with kettle bells a few years ago now, as a trainee I'm so proud of @davidstrengthlab
and his partner Nat, they go from strength to strength in their training expertise and now have their own space where I can do all the shouting I like 😂
WHAT WE DID:
loads of stuff! Kettle bell swings, a d goblet squats to warm up, not forgetting to mobilise!
It had been a while but 12kg was still easy, 16kg was fun, 24kg felt awesome. .
Band assisted pull-ups, I loved this, I'm not great at pull ups but I was able to max my reps loads doing this (I will be investing in a band!!)
Bulgarian split squats with weight, 8reps per leg, 3 sets. .
Hollow hold and press. Great for the core, particularly when @davidstrengthlab
persists on trying to wobble you and you have to maintain strength. .
Deadlifts. Not like with a barbell, but with "The Beast" (48kg) it still felt good.
Resistive push ups, again, able to smash high reps using this method with added resistance.
Lots of other fun was had. Back to Dorset today, till next time 🤟
BRO SCIENCE MYTH: Soy Products Contain Estrogen 🙄
Its a common debate amongst... Well, bro's who don't investigate the rumours they hear in the gym with a quick Google search, that soy milk and other soy products 'are really high in estrogen'. Spoiler alert: it contains non. Let's analyse where the confusion may have occurred 👇
Soya contains phytoestrogens (plant hormones, not human hormones). Phytoestrogens in the human body are pretty weak and can actually deliver benefits, like a lowered risk of cancer, by 'blocking' actual estrogen. There is absolutely NO research supporting the notion that soya disrupts sexual development or function in humans
This theory will come from your guy at your local gym, always in a vest that's neckline starts below his nipples, wears caps indoors during his every workout (don't want to get sunstroke from that weak industrial lighting), gets all of his fitness/nutrition information from the forums of Bodybuilding.com, who read the word 'estrogen' in relation to soy milk and spread it as gospel that soy milk will cause you to grow three uteruses and develop a sudden interest in Julia Roberts films.
FYI: phytoestrogens (which, along with are also Isoflavones, are a powerful antioxidant) are found in other foods as well, like coffee, apples, oats, sesame seeds, flaxseed, lentils, rice, carrots, mint, ginseng, beer, and pomegranates. Even if you completely avoid eating soy (because man boobs), you’re very likely still consuming phytoestrogens - but its cool, because unless you're an actual plant, you're not going to have a phantom pregnancy 🤰
Also, if you're concerned about consuming estrogen, cows milk contains PLENTY of actual mammalian estrogen. Cows give milk while pregnant and nursing, so their estrogen levels are significantly higher. Dairy livestock are also regularly dosed with hormones to increase their growth and milk production. That’s why conventionally raised meats and dairy can contribute to gynecomastia (man boobs) 🐄
