Fun fact... I was 154lbs at the END of my off season last February. Now, I’m just 2 weeks into my off season nutrition & training and I’m 152.4lbs 😂 I’m literally going to be the biggest I’ve ever been in my entire life after this off season! I’ve never had this much muscle. It’s interesting! _____ •Second fact: None of my clothes fit! 🙉Gym clothes YES! Regular clothes? Nope! Thank god this jumper isn’t tight...it’s the only thing that fit for my girl @mel_luvs_sb bridal shower! _____ •Do not be surprised when you see it in every single picture of me dressed up over the next few months! 🤣 1. THAT TEAR DROP! 💧 _____ •Gotta develop that inner quad sweep to balance out the overall look of the quads, to improve tracking of the patella, and to prevent muscle imbalances within the quadriceps group. _____ •VMO development was something I focused on after I had an arthroscopy on my left knee (chondramallecia/ softened cartilage on lateral portion of knee) back in 2010. My vatsus lateralis was over developed so my patella wasn’t tracking properly. _____ •Orthopedic surgeons are real good at telling you what’s wrong, and how quick you should schedule a surgery to address it. But, they’re not so good at telling you how to fix the root of the problem. 🤷🏽‍♀️ _____ •Mine actually told me I should never squat again.😲🤭 I was like, “Ok doc.” 😉 Then proceeded to do my own research on squats & Lunges. 😂 EVERYTHING I’ve learned on VMO development comes from Charles Poliquin. _____ •💧 He has written that recruitment is based on foot position and/or over loading the bottom position. I’ve built mine in the past w/ foot position (cyclist squats). Friday I focused on the bottom position for the first time. 😵Recruitment was 🙌🏾💯🙌🏾. How? ONE. AND. A. QUARTER. a pretty well stocked fridge if ya ask me 😍👌🏼 sorry i’ve been MIA lately, I haven’t been going to the gym at all and to be honest- I fell off the eating healthy wagon for a bit 🙈 I work at trader joe’s, and now is the time of year when ALLLLL THE YUMMY SEASONAL PUMPKIN STUFF comes in and.. we’re encouraged to try all of it to be able to better help our customers 😬 so ya know, naturally, i’ve been doing a little taste testing 😉 it’s part of my job, right? anyways. I also battled a terrible cold this week, and haven’t had the energy to do any sort of workout. but today, I went to the gym and did solely cardio 🤷🏽‍♀️ burned off 300cals so I call that a win! tomorrow i’ll get back into it full force with a back + chest day 🤪 but anyways. @magnusonmuscle and I have been super into these lately! we’re trying all the different flavors to see which ones we like the best. so far- purple guava pear is my jam 💜💜 but I recently also bought purple haze, champagne, & black cherry vanilla so we’ll see 🤷🏽‍♀️ hope everybody’s had a great thursday!

The discipline, determination & drive were already there. The investment of time was one of the biggest adjustments. The diet was no joke either. _____ •As you can see in that first pic my posing needed WORK! 🙈 I had to invest the time daily to practice and get better at it. Between work, clients, training, sleep, meditation (two 20 min sessions per day), and leisure (wait, what is that?😂 #nolife ), my schedule was slammed. BUT, When you want something you do what you have to do. _____ •💩Isn’t always convenient. Fitness “To Do’s” can take a back seat if you let them. Then... “getting back on it tomorrow” never happens. If you’ve got a goal: weight loss, mass gain, food prep, cooking more etc. you’ve gotta be willing to go down the road of Sacrifice.⚠️🚸 _____ •Create new patterns, habits and norms. Most of us know what’s stopping us from achieving our fitness goals. It’s less about the physical reps and more about the mindset 🧠 . Once we shift our energy, drive and focus something happens. We become relentless. We don’t want to stop because we’ve got momentum and we can taste the results. There may be set backs, but we dust ourselves off and keep it pushin’....we stand up taller, stronger, wiser and hungrier. _____ •Anything is possible folks. Made it to the gym again and another post workout meal to share. Everyone loves a good omelette. Full of protein and will help keep you fuller for longer. Omelettes are a good low carb meal and can be given to all the family. I always cook my omelette in butter. Melt the butter in the pan, blend two eggs and add to the omelette, turn the heat down to low. Over the top add some chicken, spinach and a handful of chopped cherry tomatoes. I put cheese on the top, or if you are dairy conscious add goats cheese. I did some pretty weak ass squats today. My form was FIRE tho 🔥 having to modify my workout around my stupid injury a week or so ago so, low squats and hack squats and tons of hamstrings and quad accessories. Kveldens styrkeøkt satt langt inne i dag, der eg kjenner eg var trøtt, sliten og at sofaen var sånn magisk god. Men når det var ei uke siden sist styrkeøkt så kommer en seg avgårde for å vedlikeholde det en har jobba for. Trening er tross alt ferskvare, også er det sjeldent at en angrer på at en har gått å trent. Økta var nokså identitisk til sist økt derav . 5 rep i 7 sett i knebøy, der eg jobba meg fra 50 til 95 kg 😊 to sett på 90. . My sports medicine doctor says "get more stretching into your life lady, because there is arthritis happening in your neck." UGH! Thanks a lot Dr.Matt, now I feel ancient.⠀ ⠀ Getting old is NOT for sissies. That really freaked me out!⠀ ⠀ I get myself to the gym every morning and really work hard to do all the "right" things to help me age well. Apparently, I need to spend more time doing yoga and less time beating myself up in high intensity workouts. I already knew this, but now I am really doubling down to make sure I address my body's need to create space between the joints and stay limber. ⠀ ⠀ Wake up call to make sure I take the time to actually build necessary stretching into my workout routine. If I want 60 to be the new 50, I need to make flexibility a priority. I never want to say NO to table dancing!⠀ ⠀ Anyone feel like they have the right balance of weight lifting, high intensity, stretching and cardio figured out? Or have you been told some part of you is falling apart and you want to get it back together?
Finished up an upper body day with a very wet and slippery tire flip push up complex. 5-4-3-2-1 double tire flips (there’s a tire inside that one) and incline push-ups. It was exceedingly difficult to get a grip on the tire. What should have taken me 2min took almost three due to grip 😭 . What did you get done in the gym today?
