We can’t stress enough how important it is to walk barefoot. For starters, walking barefoot improves balance, proprioception and can even help with pain relief, whereas wearing shoes can encourage muscles in your feet to turn OFF, resulting in your feet becoming super freakin lazy. Remember, the more cushion in your shoes, the lazier your feet can become.
A lack of barefoot walking could lead to painful situations like flat feet or arches that are too high or even calf muscle imbalances. Foot problems can also contribute to improper mechanics of your knees, hips and core. Just like building a home, if your foundation sucks, the rest of your house sucks (aka body sucks). Shoes also crowd the toes, disrupting joint function & alignment, which commonly results in overlapping toes. Do yourself a favor and don’t encourage unwanted feet conundrums like bunions & hammertoes for yourself. Instead, let your feet get naked, look glorious, and shout FREEDOOOOOOOM!!!!!! 👣
