Yeah, the first photo is a terrible angle. But holy shit. 😧 I can’t believe that was ME. . . I remember how my body felt back then. I remember what it felt like carrying around the extra weight. I also remember thinking that it was going to be impossible to get down to my goal of 145lbs. . . Fast forward two years and here we are. 31. Healthy. Strong. Confident. 142lbs. . . Just because you can’t see it in the moment, doesn’t mean you are incapable of achieving your goals. It takes TIME, and CONSISTENCY. 👏🏽 . . 8-10 sets of Back Squats. This was my 10th set built up to a 2. 2nd slide is 4 sets of overhead squats at 60% body weight. Then a 1 mile sprint with a 20lb vest. Ran that sucker in a 6:53. Not too bad. On my tenth set of back squats I ran out of weight so I incorporated my best to add weight. Don’t know if it’s cheating or not. #getafterit . #good

Be warned: today’s workout is BRUTAL 😅 We put our own spin on a high school workout we used to dread called the “lactic acid” workout. And if you feel the need to ask what lactic acid is, or what it feels like...do this workout and we can chat after 😉 . After a full warmup and dynamic drills (see our highlights for what we recommend), dive right into this quick track workout: 1️⃣ sprint 400 meters (one full lap) at 90-95% max effort 2️⃣Rest 60 seconds (yep, just one minute) 3️⃣All out 100 meter sprint (we go from the finish line, backwards down the straightaway) 4️⃣Rest 6-8 minutes (longgg recovery, you’ll need it) 5️⃣Start over, except this time it’s a 300 meter sprint (3/4 of the track) at 90-95% max effort 6️⃣Rest 60 seconds 7️⃣ALL OUT 100 meter sprint 8️⃣Rest 6-8 minutes 9️⃣200 meter sprint at 95% max effort (1/2 of track) 🔟Rest 60 seconds 1️⃣1️⃣ All out 100 meter sprint to finish! These two pictures are about 10 months apart ⏱ from Nov. 8, 2017 (on the right) at 200.8lbs to Sept. 22, 2018 (left) 177.7lbs. Despite the weight change, my overall body composition has only changed slightly. This goes into my dieting philosophy that if you're going to be spending hours in the gym working hard to build muscle that you should also do your best to preserve that muscle, otherwise what's the point. Regardless of whether you're cutting down or bulking up, weight is simply a way to quantify your progress. I think that there is a misconception that the goal is to lose weight during a cut, instead I believe that the real goal should be to lose fat (change body comp.) and that the weight will be a part of that. Anyways these are just some of my thoughts. What do you guys think??? 🤔🤔 I have to dig really deep these nxt 7 weeks, but it will be worth it. The log on the ground needs to get lifted. Ever try picking one up and it looks like it’ll be kinda heavy but doable, and then it’s very very heavy? That was this log.
