Have you ever been to a Japanese hot spring? Ginzan Onsen is one of the best hot springs in Japan. This photo is by Zekkei Japan. “Ginzan” means silver mountain in Japanese, and it is fitting as it is nestled in snowy Yamagata. It is really romantic to explore the area in winter, you feel as if you were time traveling to a few hundreds years ago.
Some of the bluest water I've ever seen from this snowfed waterfall in Japan 🗻
While summer is just around the corner in Sydney, over in Kyoto, they are in the middle of Autumn since October to November . The best thing about this season is unquestionably the autumn leaves!! This photo is by PIXA taken in Bishamondo. It is an old traditional temple in Kyoto with hundreds of years in history since Edo era. If you are keen on autumn leaves, Kyoto is definitely one of Japan’s No.1 destination for it!
As you know, the season in Japan is totally opposite to Australia. This photo is from Okinawa weekly monthly apartment. 🏖✨
While Summer is just around the corner in Australia, over in Japan, winter is coming.
Okinawa is the southernmost island in Japan, which has many beautiful beach spots.
Kouri island is one of the most iconic spots, well known for the stone shaped of hearts❤
I never imagined I’d end up exploring such incredible parts of Japan. It really does feel like I’ve seen more of this country than I have my own, I’m not mad about that though 🇯🇵 @visitjapanau #visitjapanau
What I’d give to be in Harajuku eating crepes right now ❤️🍰
There’s two things I do every time I touch down in a different part of the world.
1. Go and grab a bite to eat; not something you’d find at home either. Try the local foods! Okonomiyaki, takoyaki, a little fresh sashimi - it’s all good.
2. Wander the streets aimlessly. I usually try and get lost and then find my way back. It’s amazing the things you come across when you’re not looking for anything.
I’ve been a bit quiet around these parts of late as I have been head down for the last few weeks doing a massive spring #thecraftysquirrelstudio
clean so I can start making products for Christmas and also working on finalising the next #thecraftysquirreltokyotour
which I’m pleased to say launches tonight! Those of you who have been in touch and added your email to the waiting list will find an email with all the details in your inbox and those of you who are keen to find out more can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
These cute little vintage #kokeshidolls
hang out with me near my sewing machine in the studio. I’m looking forward to hunting for new ones to add to my collection on the next tour! 🇯🇵❤️🐿✂️
We got to take one of our fans on a mini shopping spree to Tokyo Mart in Sydney’s Northbridge and challenged her to make a home cooked Japanese dinner!
We had a lot of fun shopping Tokyo Mary’s colourful and well stocked aisles. We invite you to read all about it at the link in bio and try it yourselves!
Adopt the pace of nature, her secret is patience ⛩
Would rather spend two hours lining up for a roller coaster than go to work tomorrow to be honest 😴 Thank God It’s Friday tomorrow! 🙏🏼
and I are staying at a Buddhist temple in Mount Koya. After a late night Onsen we decide it’d be pretty rad to go and drone the road into the town.
One sleep later... It’s 5am, we trek a few kilometres up the road to the location. We send two drones up, we only get one back.
It turns out @ainraadik
’s drone has different ideas #prayforain
But on the way back we found out Mt Koya had a good morning song they played throughout the town. So not really a bad day (for me)
