Jon Snow, or Aegon Targaryen as the case may be, is a fan favourite. Why is he so well loved? Let’s start with the fact that he’s portrayed as a character who’s a bastard who isn’t welcomed in the family. Catelyn makes it pretty evident that he’s not loved the same, but nevertheless, Jon never fails to fulfil his duties.
The one thing that’s most loved about Jon is that despite of everything, instead of feeling envious, he loves all his siblings. I, personally think that’s too fictional since there aren’t many people in the world like him.
Jon is the perfect son. He’s a good knight, he’s humble, he has valour. The only flaw that Jon might posses is that he’s too good for the world.
In a world so cruel, where people don’t keep their promises, words stop to mean anything. Jon is a victim of this fact. If he would just not be his father’s son and learn for once that the world isn’t noble. Over the seasons, we see Jon growing up and transforming into this person who starts to understand the way the world works. He starts to let go of the fact that honour is important.
One characteristic of Jon that makes him different is that he’s not accustomed to love. Among all the different Male characteristic of the show, be it Tyrion or Theon, love is shown as a weakness but up until now, Jon looks as if he’s not capable of it. He knows there are far more important things for him to worry about.
For a man who’s raised without much love and is never has his questions answered, Jon is awfully patient and calm.
He’s the saddest death of the show and perhaps the only reason we don’t hate Melisandre anymore.
He’s a man of his word. That’s what makes him a fan favourite. We rarely see those around now.
“He walks into the room, he looks up, and he’s incredibly attracted to her.” —
Kit Harington on Jon’s first meeting with Dany
“Adventure is worthwhile in itself.”
