The last time I hit deadlifts for an AMRAP was 355x12. I’ve never tried light weight with comically high volume before. Guess I underestimated my 1RM by a lot. Guess the program will have me bump my max up from 250 to around 300, still a far cry from the old days, but better than I expected. I also figured it’s about time I start training abs again, so I’m going to start incorporating a circuit in every few days. The next step is to start adding in cardio on non-lifting days. Yay.

I kicked this morning off with a brisk walk around the park with my dad 🌳 We were out for an hour, and it was hard work getting up the hill at the end 😅 I haven't been doing much exercise lately, so it was great to get my heart rate going.

You gained 3lbs in a day?
Not likely. Chances are unless you were stuffing some serious face like Krispy Kreme was going out of business - you did not gain 3lbs of body mass in a single 24-hour period.
Scale fluctuations is part of the game, they happen! And there's nothing we can do to stop them. 🤷🏻♂️
But, there ARE things we can do to minimize them!
Listed here are a few reasons why your weight may be going up and down like a see-saw.
Having a big dinner or eating a big meal before your weigh-in will definitely affect your numbers. The excess food that has yet to pass through your body is to blame for this! 🍕
In the same sense, drinking fluids will also lead to bigger digits on the scale. 💦
The time of day may be a culprit as well - usually as its gets later in the day you have consumed more food and beverage which will lend to your scale weight. 🕘
Differences between scales can also affect your readings, its important to try and use the same scale... many times they won't give you the same numbers! 🤔
Also, if you are weighing in with your clothes on and your phone in your hand - big mistake! This should be a *duh* sort of thing, but sometimes we don't realize how attached we are to these things. 📱
The best rule of practice is to weigh yourself first thing in the morning before you have consumed food or water and after you have used the restroom.
This will help you to minimize any potential "skews" in your weigh-ins. Remember, keeping good track of your weight is important to monitoring progress, all you can do is your very best to make certain these numbers are reliable and accurate! 😁
