How do I work a full-time job, raise a family, take care of myself and run a health and fitness business? I get up early so I can have downtime with my family at night, I fuel my body with food that serves me, I reprioritize my to-do list constantly, and I remember why I started all of this.
So, why did I start all of this? Because I realized the example I was setting for my kids in the way I was living my life, and I wanted to make sure it was a positive one that showed it was important to take care of yourself and to work hard. I also started this because I knew there were other people in my life who could benefit from having a way to take better care of themselves that fit in with their busy lives. I also started it because I fell in love with the community of people who I found and I didn’t want to lose that sense of belonging and empowerment. .

This was pre bedtime snack time, the oldest just got home (after 9:00 pm) from what started as football practice then had to leave early to get to a basketball practice. In addition after he got home from school he did one of the workouts from the LIIFT4 program we are currently doing...that boys is going to be so 😴 in the morning. But after all that work he definitely needed to fuel up, to counter all the calories he had burned. So snack consisted of apples, cheese slices, peanut butter and popcorn. it’s a noodle recipe!!! love sharing different recipes and kitchen tips with y’all, and this one was just way too tasty not to share. a couple keys to making this dish so delish ☝🏽 jam sweetened veggies ✌🏽 homemade noodle sauce
built this flavor combo around the honey ginger turkey breasts we got (on sale and such a steal might I add😍) HOWEVER you can flavor your meat at home by simply mixing a little honey, oil, and minced ginger together to make a marinade and letting your meat soak it up overnight
☝🏽 first of all, nothing can spice up some veggies like a little fresh jam. I used a tbsp or so of orange ginger marmalade and a drizzle of oil over top of my carrot + brussel mix to give them just a tad bit of sweetness. don’t forget to sprinkle a little salt (to taste) and just a couple grinds of pepper. roasted on a sheet pan at 400 for about 20 minutes
✌🏽 oil, liquid aminos, honey, rice wine vinegar, and a tiny touch of honey mustard (+ salt and pepper to taste) mix up to make the perfect sauce to sauté this dish with. once the meat, noddles and veggies were done I added everything back into the original pan with the sauce and let everything simmer for 5 or so minutes
topped everything off with a mixture of fresh garden herbs from the front yard and walla ✨✨ bon appetite my friends
Not gonna lie, but some of my meals after becoming a mom have been less time consuming, quick and easy to put together. Also very TASTY too! Like instead of tostadas I used squash for low carbs. 😋
So i went to @tenerifecafe
for breakfast since i’d heard a lot about their breakfast menu (late to the party 🙄). And frankly it looks absolutely delish in photos. But i gotta say i had mixed opinion about their dishes.
The Savoury Crepes and Country Fried Chicken were no doubt perfect ✔️ But the Mexican Omelette was a major disappointment ✖️😪 It had no flavor and no hint of seasoning whatsoever. I tried veryyyy hard to like it but i have to say it only LOOKED good. The mini wraps that came with it were way too sour ☹️

😴Today I woke up late after a disturbed night, my first thought was to stay in bed,not go to the gym and go back tomorrow. But I went. And it was a lot tougher than I’d anticipated!!😔
I struggled from the start and was ready to give up and go home, cross at my body for letting me down.. Chin ups weren’t happening. Squats just on 60kg felt like 100. Deadlifts on 70kg felt like trucks. And lunges left me light headed and wobbly!!
But then I had a word or two with myself, and stopped beating myself up for it..
A few reasons for this ...
1️⃣Been in America for 2weeks,eating different to normal and not working out. Out of the gym almost 3wks.My body is also trying to still be 5hours behind!
2️⃣Ive slept for just 10hours in the last 2days and travelled lots! I’m tired..😴 very tired!
3️⃣My water consumption has lowered the past few days and I’ve had swollen legs from the flight.
4️⃣I didn’t eat before going and haven’t eaten properly for a couple of days.
5️⃣We may have been on holiday for 2 weeks but I need another to recover as it’s not your relaxing type, it was full on, go go go( wouldn’t change it one bit though!!)
6️⃣Mother nature paid me a painful visit this morning to top it all off!!🤷🏻♀️ I think it’s acceptable that today’s session was hard. Very hard. But it’s first one back done and I’m glad to be back..💪🏼

My eating schedule has been kinda whacked since we set forth on our cross-country move, back at the end of June... But one meal that’s fairly easy to regulate is breakfast! And as someone who gets pretty darn cranky without it, I’ve gotten good at making sure to always have something on hand. What I’ve been craving recently: Simple. Crunchy. Pour-out-of-a-box cereal. So easy. No cooking. No blending. No excuses!
Gooodmorning everyone! Wow, am I glad to have today off from work😝 Working 40 hours last week was harder than I thought😂 but anyways, breakfast this morning was amazing if I do say so myself😉 I actually had time to prepare food so I did my best, we have...😊 •Egg white omelette🥟 consisting of •3 egg whites, half a tomato and 1/4 green pepper🥚🍅🌶 then I made my famous •Crunchy yogurt bowl🥣 consisting of •100g of @chobani
plain Greek yogurt, 50g of @lightandfit
vanilla Greek yogurt, 1/4 peach, 1 large strawberry, half a banana, 1/4 cup of @cheerios

MIND OVER MATTER 🧠💪🏼
This concept was drilled in my head at a young age curtesy of athletics.
Especially in track & field, I ran the 400 meter race. It is known as the full out sprint for an entire lap of the track, with some strategy sprinkled throughout the 60-ish seconds.
This race brought me to tears, blood, sweat, and even vomit. There were moments when I felt like I COULDN’T overcome the mental game. That I would NEVER get a personal record (PR). That the race WON over my ability/talent as a runner.
I quickly learned it’s about how to master the thoughts, doubts, fears...the mind, once you’ve hit complete physical exhaustion.
It’s what YOU do when no one is looking,
what YOU do when you hit your wall,
what YOU do when you THINK you’ve had enough,
what YOU do when it’s you against yourself.
Do YOU push or do you fall.
