‘One more day then I will start recovery’ ‘I can’t recover until I get weighed’ These have been two of my favourite sayings since my relapse, why? I get a pleasure out of restricting then decide I must carry on restricting until I get weighed. Funnily enough, I didn’t know that stepping on the scales and finding out I am a number is my worthiness. I didn’t know that my motivation could only begin by a pair of scales or by the hours until tomorrow. I have a question for you all, why do we deprive ourselves of recovery and hold back on opportunities that will never appear again? You might have your heart set on being a teacher, how are you going to influence these kids if your not even well enough to get there? If you want to be a doctor, how are you going to promote a healthy and happy lifestyle if your not living one yourself? These things all add up and fall into a category in my brain I call edgrets (ed regrets). Recovery doesn’t start by holding back it starts by realising you must do this now, or never. Don’t get held up on the idea that when that clocks strikes 12:00 you will magically have the power in your brain to fight this. I finally made Elle’s @keto.vegetarian.girl favorite nooatmeal!!!! It’s basically a yummy Keto porridge. I followed Elle’s regular recipe (without cocoa powder) but substituted water with Califia coconut almond milk and added 2 T of cream and 1 T of organic erythritol (I was afraid I won’t like it if it’s not sweet) while cooking it. Eating well is a form of self love!!!💚💚💚 Read this great article this morning and thought I would share some highlights. Nathaniel Branden provides a definition of self-esteem: “Self-esteem is the disposition to experience oneself as being competent to cope with the basic challenges of life and of being worthy of happiness. It is confidence in the efficacy of our mind, in our ability to think. By extension, it is confidence in our ability to learn, make appropriate choices and decisions, and respond effectively to change. It is also the experience that success, achievement, fulfillment – happiness – are right and natural for us. The survival-value of such confidence is obvious; so is the danger when it is missing.” So oftentimes, in order want to eat better, the work becomes building self-esteem and self-respect.  Once self esteem is in place, making good food choices becomes natural and easy. You don't have to use willpower to say no to cheap sugary temptations - you simply don't WANT to put them in your body anymore.
