"Let it burn." Nelly Freeman (portrayed by Christina Sajous) singing to the mob that were threatening to burn down her saloon in Paradise Square. For a brief period in Five Points freed slaves and free born African Americans and Irish immigrants lived and loved together. You may recall Charles Dickens was repulsed by this. #paradisesquaremusical #berkeleyrep #fivepoints #riskit #tellyourstory
Here is a small preview of the print collection I just completed for a client. The shipment arrived today and now I have to make one last delivery to have these prints ready to be displayed. This is a @marigold_solutions
project i've been working on since last Summer. I look forward to sharing the gallery details with you once everything is ready to go, but for now I have to get these out of my kitchen.
Tapas anyone? We know a few places in town. 😉
LOL. A friendly reminder to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Your massage therapist knows how well you hydrate.
Staying well hydrated helps with kidney function and transporting nutrients throughout the body.
Dehydration can cause cramping and slow muscular response during a massage session.
This past Sunday we continued our discussion on The Yamas. Satya (Truthfulness) is the second of the five Yamas. We should have Satya in our thoughts, words and deeds. Satya reminds us to choose our words carefully so they do the least amount of harm to others. Our words have the capacity to frighten, inspire and delight and what we say affects our consciousness.
Satya is about restraint, slowing down, filtering ourselves, considering our words so when they’re spoken they’re in balance with Ahimsa (Non-Violence), supporting and grounding us. Speaking our truths bring out the best in those around us.
How can we practice Satya daily?
1. Be honest, rather than nice to people.
2. Don’t reconfigure yourself for others.
3. Desire and constantly work on your own growth.
4. Trust yourself.
5. Remember, our truths aren’t fixed, they’re fluid. They’ll change as we change.
Yamas are the moral, ethical and societal guidelines for practicing yoga. They remind us of our moral conduct in life.
This Sunday we'll move onto Asteya (Non-Stealing).

Dark January evenings
/ something about this nighttime, slightly rainy scene stood out to me but it turned out the combination of Dublin Road and 5 pm can very quickly wear down your patience, traffic-wise..
Something about the sun in my face 🌞
